You need to ignore him, he's got the biggest woody for Jones and even if Jones went out and averaged 25 pts, 14 boards and 4 tap outs he would still say the 22 year old is no good LOL.
I'm pumped about D-MO if he can sustain his level of play. When teams go into Hack a Howard mode we can put D-Mo and it will be a plus. Couldn't do that last year with Asik.
Not having tjones means even with Dwight, either black is the first big off the bench then Dorsey will be playing. Then papa will be playing some Pf and ariza will be playing more sf which he could have played some sg to get harden some rest. Isn't that difference significant enough?
Does any of Terrence, Tarik, or Dorsey give you anything significantly different and better than the other that this team has to have that would cause you to classify that one as a difference-maker? In my opinion, they are BASICALLY the same. Just banging garbage man bigs. That's the role they play. They're supposed to defend, rebound, clean up and finish. Terrence is probably the better finisher among them. But is he so much better a finisher that we have to have him out there finishing for us? In my opinion, Black is probably the best rebounder of the 3 and may be the best pick-and-roll defender of the 3. But is he so much better at those things that his contributions couldn't be replaced by one of the other two fellas? I don't see it. That's what I mean by non-difference makers. Guys that add to the team but their contributions can be replaced. Kostas? he brings a little bit of playmaking and basketball iq to the game. But could we go get somebody else to do his job relatively easily? I'd say yes. Shoot, if we are in the hunt for Corey Brewer, Brewer is an upgrade to Kostas and would likely take a lot of Kostas' minutes if he were brought in here and Kostas hadn't been moved out. Not to mention the guys we already got...Kostas goes out...we move Harden down the 3/4 and play the guards. I don't see what we miss.........beyond depth. And depth is something that you get with 12 active roster spots.
It is very important to get Jones back. Period. The major reason is that in the playoffs all of the front court minutes can be split between Howard, D-Mo and Jones. Maybe with a little Papa stretch four time. While Jones may never be defensively as adept as Howard and D-Mo, with what he brings offensively he is a net positive for the Rockets. Black may get there eventually. Dorsey never will. When (and god forbid if) Jones gets back he provides McHale with a wide range of front court options to turn to. Having very good paint protection 100% of the time is a luxury few teams have. Got a Blake or LMA problem? Sic D-Mo on them. The opponent goes with a small and very active SF? You have Jones and Papa for that. Jones will keep Black and Dorsey on the bench. The Rockets will be a much better team when Jones returns.
We've been playing well and winning without Dwight, obviously means he sucks you guys. Somebody pat me on the back because I have been telling ya'll this. I watch basketball smartly you guys. You guys...
A threat from the wings on offense. He demands a defender within closing distance when the Rockets run the DDMO to clear the driving lanes for Harden. Most nights he scores more than Dorsey and Black put together. Better rebounding per minute. More above the rim offense. More shot blocking. etc.
TLDR but knowing OP he probably made this thread for an in depth review on how Jones has the least impact on this team.
Plus he actually has handles. But dont even waste time on BBholic with Jones. He is to Jones what FTW is to Mchale.

We are the 20th ranked offense. That ain't good. We won't keep winning at this clip without a healthy roster, and that includes Jones. If Jones wasn't a difference maker, he wouldn't have been our starter the past year and and beginning of this year.
I'll tell you who the REAL difference makers are.... Spoiler Coincidence? I think not! After we got rid of the bromance this team has taken off!... Spoiler Of course having an MVP candidate on your team/ a top notch wing defender/ and a newfound emphasis on overall team defense are factors as well! AND even McHale has stepped up his game! WOW...what a difference, difference makers make!...
No. It's a serious question. Terrence isn't an outside shooter. He's got a good handle for a pf but I don't see how that helps us. We do not use Terrence as a playmaker. His handle is simply a convenience that he uses occasionally to bring the ball up when everybody has ran down already. I've seen DMo do the same thing in this recent stretch of games. In half-court sets Terrence doesn't make plays PF the dribble and when he dribbles around in half-court the results are not efficiently good. He trends to turn the ball over and force things. Just my opinions. I don't see value in Terrence's handle.
No, but if T-Jo had not been hurt, could he have played center like D-Mo? I don't think so -- he doesn't have D-Mo's height, footwork or passing ability. I like both, but D-Mo is a keeper.
