But you still need a good qb to run it. Kaep has never had a statistically bad year.

Will be interesting to see how he does next year

    yea, he's been on fire.

norv turner has the training wheels on him, but it's OK. he just turned 22, and he's getting better each week.

his offensive line is horrible, and his WR/RB options are dismal at best.

Goes in the books as an 89yd td. That Clowney is looking great so far.

Heck, what we got from our second and fourth round picks is looking great (what it would have cost to move up and draft Bridgewater.).

    Fitzy has far outplayed TB

nobody wanted TB except for a handfun of loudmouths around here. Don't forget it's only a matter of time before his skinny frame gets crushed and he's sidelined. Remember that was a big knock on him -- his small frame

I know, I am so glad we drafted someone who has been able to stay injury free and on the field. I'm all about dat frame.

    LOL... "far outplayed."

As one of those few "loudmouths" (another interesting choice of words, coming from someone with so many posts), let's not forget the knocks about small hands, gloves and football IQ. Sure seems that none of those knocks have slowed down his development as a first year quarterback.

And in the mean time, the Texans have Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mallett, and Tom Savage at QB (and those two great rookies, Xavier Su'a-Filo and Louis Nix... how well are they doing for ya?)

Why is it so hard to simply admit that Bridgewater has clearly played the best of the rookie QBs? Also, he is improving week to week. Granted the 89 yard game winner was more due to lousy tackling from the Jets, but the 56 yard TD in the first quarter was a perfectly thrown ball. Whether or not he is a franchise QB is certainly debatable, but he has done just fine for a rookie especially without Peterson or a left tackle. Assuming everything would have remained the same for the Texans, he would probably still be on the bench had Houston drafted him, so good for him that he gets an opportunity to have extended playing time.

Which is far better than TB's performance this year. The stats speak for themselves.

teddy is a sensitive subject for some of these people.

they spent a lot of time degrading his college performances, and everything about the guy.

now he is finding a groove and is having some success despite having no skill players and a horrible oline, these same posters feel inadequate enough to continue their smear campaign against teddy.

these are the same posters who cheer on cops killing unarmed black men in the D&D... so no doubt their unjustified hate for teddy is race related. there is no other explanation.

Are you seriously touting a 10 year veteran having a "far better" season than a 22 year old rookie? Not to mention the Texans having more talent on the offensive side of the ball than Minnesota.

BoB wasn't drafting TB. That being said...

TB better than any of our QBs and looks way better than Bortles for sure. Love that skinny frame argument though. We all see how great stout guys like JD and Nix have held up.

Agree on the comment re: skinny frame. Not saying Bridgewater is either of these quarterbacks, but Fran Tarkenton and Joe Montana were both slight builds. Tarkenton played forever, and while Montana had injury issues later (Jim Burt almost killed him in a playoff game). And I have a hunch Bridgewater will fill out a bit more as he gets older.

Both also didn't have powerful arms. I watched Tarkenton a lot while growing up and Montana while I lived in the Bay Area. Both relied more on timing and getting the ball to the receiver as they were making their cuts instead of firing the ball in. Both threw very catchable balls...

Again, not saying Bridgewater will Montana or Tarkenton... but all the flags thrown on Bridgewater at the time of the draft seem pretty silly right now.

Other than the fact that it's not accurate? Nothing.

Which rookie QBs has he not clearly outplayed?

If you go by record, he has out-won all other rookie QBs combined. If you go by rating, he is at the top of the list. Is your argument that it is unclear that he has outplayed Carr?

Dude you're wasting your time. Teddy could throw for 400 yds and 7 tds and it still would be negative nonsense about how he's not a starting qb. Ignore those trolls.

Teddy can do nothing right in the eyes of some.

While Clowney and XSF are afforded time to develop, Teddy has to be Aaron Rodgers right from the jump.

It does not matter what is said because Teddy is focused and will continue to do his thing.

He hasn't "clearly outplayed" Mettenburger for example. Either way, it doesn't really matter because it's pretty clear that this year's QB class is terrible. It's pretty similar to the QB class the year before that.

man bridgewater would be a beast on the texans

norv turner said teddy is up there with drew brees in terms of football iq, basically called him a prodigy, says what he is doing doesnt suprise the players( they see the flashes all the time in practice).

and yesterday mike zimmer basically said the franchise is teddy's, you only hear that kinda praise for guys like andrew luck, or when rg3 was healthy his rookie year

the thing that i notice about teddy is no matter what, he always seems to be having fun or in control. kid audibles to screen againist a zero blitz wins the game with a long td in ot to win the game, and doesnt even seem all that happy or jubliant like a normal rookie would(almost stoic like)... bridgewater also set the vikings rookie record for passing yards (breaking fran tarketon's record), and has already thrown for more 300 yard games than christian ponder( keep in mind bridgewater started in week 4), not only that he already has the record for most game-winning drives in vikings history with 4

the veteran players of opposing defenses respect teddy so much, that according to espn he is on pace to being the least blitzed rookie qb since 2000
