Reagan is a fraud. George HW Bush did all the heavy lifting in those years. Bush also came up with the line that you just quoted.

I put this more on Dunn then JB, I can't see why our Defense changed so much by just JB deciding we should play more D.

I mean where was it last 3 years.

I believe its a combination of both JB and TR Dunn

I am taking a wild guess here in that JB was the one who develops the various schemes and the general defensive strategies.

TR probably does the scouting for upcoming opponents and adds in the tweaks as needed to adjust to a particular team's players and tendencies to the defense. I am guessing once Sampson left last season either JB or no one focused on the general schemes and just did the scouting. You need to have both to be a consistently good defensive team.

I believe Elston Turner developed the schemes under Adelman for the Rockets while Dunn probably did the scouting.

Have to give credit to the entire coaching staff -- its one thing to have the team be such a great defensive team compared to last year -- its another thing to do with while constantly juggling lineups and having to do it the majority of the year with your two best defenders from last season

Awesome, glad JB is such a diligent worker!! Is this the first time they acknowledged the miscommunication about how to guard that 3pt shot by Lilliard?

Dunn was brought in about a week before the preseason. He may be the primary guy watching tapes and defensive game planning each night, but he wasn't here to develop the schemes. That had to be McHale and Bickerstaff.

It seems like Mchale is the composer while JB and TR are the artist who does the song rendition. All performing their duties well.

McHale is the head coach. Its ultimately his responsibility.

With rumors circulating that Mark Jackson wouldn't hire qualified assistant, it's good to have a head coach who gets the right people around him.

Personally I think of McHale more as the Sports Agent (pumping up confidence and making sure that the right M&M's are in the room while taking a 30% cut off the top) while the Clients (players, GM and assistant coaches) do the actual work.

I just hope that we don't lose Bickerstaff any time soon... we all saw what happened after Sampson left late in the season....

They both deserve a lot of credit, but I believe it's harden buying in that has made the difference.

Last year I'm sure everyone looked at his non effort and thought that was acceptable.

Now this team has ariza, harden, howard, bev, terry that are all very committed to defense and understand its importance. This makes all the young guys follow suit, and it has truly been a pleasure to watch.

JB wasn't empowered the last few years. McHale and Sampson held him back.

I'm going to give everyone credit. Because it takes everyone focused on the same thing to make it happen. I give Morey, McHale, all the coaches, and all the players credit for a job well done. They've pulled off something I didn't think possible. What's exciting is that they can still improve. Most of the starters haven't even played together all that much. Congrats to everyone.

What if people just think it's all JB because he does so many in-game interviews now? On a more serious note, its a team sport yall.
