Looks like we are #8 now based on tiebreakers, ahead of Miami, KC, Buf and Cle. Still 1 game behind Pitt (#6) and Bal (#7). Need NE to beat San Diego tonight.

Most recently, yes, but our loses earlier in the year to New York, Dallas, and especially Pittsburgh will most likely keep us on the outside looking in this year.

Too bad, a couple of decisions by BO'B and the offense and there would be even more to be excited about going down the stretch. Hopefully they'll play their best ball of the year to close out the final 3 games and make it a memorable December for all of us!!

    Go Texans!

I thought the refs screwed the Browns, they had a clear uncalled PI penalty where the Colts defensive back tackled the Browns receiver on 3rd down and it would have put them in FG range up 24-19.....and then the called the PI on Cleveland in almost the same scenario on the winning drive.

Seemed like a gift wrapped deal to me.

Those 2 minutes vs Pitt might have been what decided the season in terms of playoff berth.

It would be disappointing to not make it, but I can't help but feel optimistic going forward.

The Colts have been barely escaping by the skin of their teeth all year. Eventually it will stop being the storyline about how clutch Andrew Luck is, and how bad that entire team really is when you look past the record. Defense is and has always been crap. O-line is no good either. The team loses week in and out in the trenches. Big name QB/WR's can only take you so far.

That realization will happen eventually, either next week against the Texans or in the first round of the playoffs, but it will happen surely enough. And it will be harsh. Expect a blowout to end Indy's season.

The biggest factor to their success is that they don't make the game-changing, crippling mistake that the Texans (and numerous other teams) make in crucial moments. Yes, Luck throws interceptions and they commit penalties, but it's never done in a make-or-break moment of the game. They are the team that's ALWAYS capitalizing on the opponent's mistake.

Actually, even if the Texans win next week, and the Colts go on to lose at Dallas the following week, as long as they beat Tennessee, they'd still win the division. For the Texans, all that really matters is winning out. What the Colts do is somewhat inconsequential (again, as long as they beat the Titans).

Assuming Texans win out I don't think you're right. Texans/Colts would be tied for division record at 5-1, but Texans would have 9-3 AFC record, Colts 8-4, right? Or am I looking at the tiebreakers incorrectly?

Browns loss surely hurt...would have made next week and 1 of last 2 must wins rather than all 3.

Man, I feel bad for Watt and Arian Foster. They played really well this year and what a waste of a season.

AFC South Champ tiebreak comes down to best win percentage in common games. Indy takes it over us.

We need to win out or 2/3 and get some serious help/

Common games tie-breaker comes before conference games tie-breaker for division purposes.

    1. The team i expect to have it the hardest is the Chargers...Tonight's loss helps a lot. Still have to play Peyton at San Diego...and then try winning @ 49ers, and Chiefs...initial prediction of 1-3 looks much more likely.

    2. Next week is the Chief's season @ Pitt. Win or their out of the race. Hope they do the Texans a favor and beat Pittsburgh.

    3. True to form, their Jekyl and Hyde performance still continues. Getting spanked like that at home was terrible. They will lose this division, and will not beat Pittsburgh. They however have the tie breaker against us...:(

    4. Steelers have Baltimore breathing down their necks. Unless, they lose to the Falcons(who have a must win game tom night vs GB or risk being in a tie with the Saints)

    5. The Browns blew it... Not only for them, but also ofcourse for us. Cant believe they choked the game like that against Luck. Deserve not to be in, and right now facing a very high uphill battle: vs Bengals @Ravens and @Carolina. Im calling it...they will be out next week and we shall see Johnny Football this season under the helm.

    6. Big loss tonight for the fins...surprised that the Ravens won this game.

    7. Texans have to win out. Just that simple. But there is a possibility that a 10-6 team may not make it?? Think the season ends next week guys. I have a zero % chance of winning at Indy...havent done it before, and this year isnt the year we will do it either.

Way too many results have to go absolutely perfect for us to get in with a 9-7 record.

Next week at Indy is effectively a must-win game.

O'Brien has the team fired up reminding them we have never won in Indy.

Colts could come out flat knowing it's not a must win

That's the value of having a great QB - you can win a lot of games despite a lot of holes. It's why the great QB's make the playoffs almost every year regardless of all the changes going on around them. To win in the playoffs, you still need a complete team - but getting there can be done pretty much just on the back of a QB.

The scary part is they have a very good to great QB on a freaking rookie deal. They are pissing away this gift by not capitalizing before he gets to be really, really expensive. Just freaking sucks that one bad year netted them Andrew Luck...

Hope the Texans run the ball down their throat on Sunday and keep Luck on the sidelines for long stretches on Sunday. He's a freaking stud. Never felt like the Colts wouldn't score on that last drive.

    Go Texans!!

The Texans win out and they are in...I went through and gave all the AFC teams wins the rest of the season on the playoff predictor and they make it under every scenario with winning out.

With losing one there is still a chance at 9-7 but you essentially need Cincy to lose out, SD to lose 2 out of 3 vs (Denver, KC and SF) and Denver and NE to keep winning.

After 2-14 last year just being able to play with the playoff machine this late in the season feels great.
