Are you a tOSU band wagoner or something? Fact is 2 of the 4 best teams got left out and its a bunch of crap. The committees job was to find the 4 best teams and they obviously didn't do that.
If you want to play this game, maybe tOSU shouldn't have lost to a beyond awful VT team. You are lucky we got screwed and didn't get matched up with Bama. We are a bad matchup for y'all even though Cooper would have destroyed us.
I can't fault an independent committee for not picking a Big 12 team as a top 4 squad when the Big 12 can't even say which of the teams is their champion.
Like our coach said today in his press conference no one in the committee has any ties to the South and it hurt our chances. They need to add someone who has ties to the Big 12.
I wouldn't be so pissed if we got left out for a better team but tOSU is not a better team than either Baylor or TCU.
the problem is the committee knows that neither Baylor or TCU fans are going to make the trip to Pasadena like OSU fans will
You might believe that, but the committee clearly didn't. The whole "best team" is stupid anyway. It should be most deserving. "Best" is much more subjective and arbitrary.
I don't blame you for being mad, and I am also not surprised that the SEC fans in this forum are ganging up against the Big 12 teams.
It should be 8. Ohio State TCU and Baylor should all be in the running for a title. Sic em! Baylor has a chance to finish at #2 in the final polls. Building a program.
I think one of the ultimate protections for the 4 team playoff was to avoid situations like in 05 (I believe) where you had 3 undefeated teams. Baylor, TCU and every other team was in control of their own destiny. They all had a chance. Baylor beats West Virginia then they are in and if TCU beats Baylor they are in. As long as you give every team who is undefeated a ride into the final 4 then I think the system works in my opinion.
The committee confirmed with eye test that championships matter, if you are in the Big 12 you have to schedule better out of conference teams if y'all aren't going to have a 'ship. Ohio State these past weeks have looked unstoppable. They made a Heisman hopeful runner look like a regular player. Does Baylor think they have a shot at Alabama? Not saying Ohio State is going to win, but you have to have some defense against Alabama.
