He's not going anywhere. As long as they don't have to pay a qb there is no reason to cut foster or Johnson.
The way I see it, the Texans still control their own destiny, if they win out, they get at the very least a WC spot.
If KC wins out and Pitt wins 2 out of 3 (loses to KC), they would both get in over the Texans. Those teams will likely be favored in all those games.
If that happens, the Steelers likely win their division and assuming the Texans win out they'd be in over the Ravens or Bengals.
Though here, it's possible that Pitt wins the division, so it depends in part on what Cinci and Baltimore do as well.
I went ahead and simulated that out on ESPN's playoff simulator and it said that the Texans get in with the second WC
Good win. Arian was great, Watt was MVPish, and Fitzpatrick didn't make any big mistakes. Indy just had to win though. PIT beating the Bengals didn't help either. Besides the crappy draft production, the MNF game and Andre's unforced fumble vs Indy are our biggest downfall this year.
Not having a legit QB and getting almost zero production from the draft hurt too. The games Foster missed also
that shouldn't have even been the case. 3rd and 2 empty backfield with nobody being able to hold foster's jock and we pass. yeah, i still can't get over it.
I'm not sure, but in the last couple games, it seems we are seeing a Texans team that is doing better at playing to their strengths; while minimizing their weaknesses. It ain't exactly pretty, but it's smart football. We might have easily seen an over confident Fitz flipping it around, but the team took the first 2-3 drives aggravatingly conservative and just let the D help them get it going.
The Browns could have helped the Texans out, but the team really controls it's own destiny. If they want it, they have to go get it. Surprisingly, playoffs are still a possibility. Last week was an anomaly, in general, Fitzzle is painful to watch. Please don't let him be here next year.
to be fair the Texans have had plenty of draft picks that didnt really do much in their first year yet have still been productive...
Well, we're certainly putting that theory to the test this year. At this rate, we're looking at 2025 before we're able to address all our needs with competent draftees.
Arian usu has good games against the Colts. It will be up to the defense to keep them from scoring. huge test.
