nah, everybody knows that Lin isn't a good primary point guard .

    How about what happens first?

Byron Scott, one of the legendary 80s Lakers who has a proven track record as a coach getting fired

or Lin who has been benched by 2 teams, leaves the Lakers after the year is done.

between you and me, man to man, in all honesty, without trying to make a point to LOF's, do you really think Price is better than Lin?

And the Laker's record is on Scott. And we all know that there's no chance that Lin stays a Laker next year anyways.

    LOL.

    I called it.

Coaches just cant trust Lin because of his inconsistencies and his boneheaded plays during crucial times. They dont know what they will get out of him each night and that scares them.

Scott prefers Ronnie's consistent suckage over the uncertainty of Lin. That there says it all folks.

The ultimate slap in the face to Lin and all his crazies.

And to think that Lin crazies thought benching Lin for Beverley was bad.....

I dont get why people are making jokes about Lin here. Sure he's been horrible, but it's not like Price *beat* him out for the starting job. Price is awful and has been awful even against bench players.

At least Beverley is a competent player who deserved it.

    Really?

If Price is awful journeyman PG and Lin was benched for him -- what kind of player does that make Lin?

Lin's contract is up this season, and Linsanity is a distant memory.

I think this could actually be a good thing for him. IMO he is an NBA rotation player, but he's not a starter and he's not a true PG. Without the hype and expectations I think he can be a productive bench scorer/spot starter in the league.

Unfortunately wherever he goes, his annoying fans will follow, and will likely cause him to be disliked wherever he goes. Hopefully some of them will go away, because I really like Lin and want him to succeed, but boy his fans can be irritating.

Byron is right about one thing: When the team is 5-15, he's got nothing to lose by making a change. I don't see it helping much, though.

Davis can block some shots and is far more active than Boozer but he is still not a real rim protector (6'9" and way too skinny) and comes with his own issues of not being able to shoot at all. Price tries hard on D but is only sporadically effective when he gets some deflections.

But like Byron Scott says, at 5-15, he might as well try something different. What's the worst that's gonna happen? Them winning 20% of games instead of 25%?

Maybe just have all hustle guys who don't need touches around Kobe is what works best. Sixers did it when they had Allen Iverson and surrounded him with the likes of Tyrone Hill, Theo Ratliff, Eric Snow and Aaron McKie.

As for what it says about Lin-- not a whole lot really. Some situations are just such cluster****s that everybody looks bad, especially players who need a set of specific conditions to do well. Sacramento Kings in the last few Maloof years were like that. Multiple guys who looked competent in earlier and later stops played horrible for those Kings--Greivis Vazquez, Patrick Patterson, Aaron Brooks, Chuck Hayes.

    Byron Scott knows point guards.
He had Jason Kidd with the Nets and he played with Magic.

If he says jeremy lin doesn't know what a point guard is, that's incredibly bad.

Price might run the offense better, who knows. Let's see if it works!

The PGs job is to run the coach's system. Byron's system is utter crap. Lin is stuck doing whatever he can to make it work in the real world, which winds up not looking much like Byron's system. Since you have to assume Byron believes in his system, and Lin isn't Jason Kidd or Chris Paul with the ability to make any sort of crap work... well, that is not a marriage made in heaven.

    And then there is Kobe...

Funny part is, the roster change may work. Not because of swapping Lin and Price, but because of swapping out Boozer. Boozer is such a net negative that the Boozer influence could swamp any difference at the PG spot.

Didn't Lin take shots at Scott's coaching? Something along the lines of how he had a better system going for him in Houston but he has nothing with the Lakers.

I'm sure that played a part in him getting benched.

Scott should've done it after Lin went 0-10 to get more credibility. He played fine last game.

it's okay, according to his fans, Lin doesn't fit in any coach's system other than D'antoni's system circa 2011 for 3 weeks

Every coach's system sucks, that's why Lin can't succeed. Maybe he will get traded to the Spurs and get benched there and people can claim Pops' system sucks too
