I had the same problem. It mostly went away once I followed the steps to update my controller: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/wireless-controller-disconnects (Its at the end of the page,"Solution 6: Make sure the controller is up to date")
The problem with that is that he spends 4 minutes of his 9 minute review talking about things that have such little impact on the game. I understand what purpose he's trying to serve...and I know he's going for that humorous/angry/witty way of putting a bunch of clever words and mashing them into a sentence to get a certain point across, but, when it comes down to it, he's missing the point in a big way. Here is a video from SlapTrain...this guy has 200k subscribers and all he does for a living is play racing games and post them up. He played the Beta of The Crew and hated it. <iframe width="853" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/GJoYmZUWwyQ?list=UU3Xu9GSp5-yVa1ck91SjRWA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> And for anyone interested, here are some initial thoughts on the game from various sources: http://gamerant.com/the-crew-review/ http://www.gamespot.com/the-crew-review/ http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/gaming/the-crew-review-a-racing-game-like-no-other-9899735.html
I'm going to nitpick here. Where does he say he hated it? I looked at some of his past videos (from the beta), and I swear he sounds just as enthusiastic. In fact, he even says " i know its so dope i love it !!!!!" in a comment about the game (around 3 months ago): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlGy5sBU3Eg&google_comment_id=z124xfuw1qy1uvpui23uwfrgbyb5czudc Maybe he changed his mind at some point (and back again). Or maybe something else. The only reason I bring this up is I couldn't help but get "I'm getting paid to talk positively about this game" vibes from his videos. Maybe that's just the way he is, but it rubbed me the wrong way. I'm sure the game is fun, especially if you can ignore its flaws (some can't), but he really seems to go overboard.
It could have been in one of his beta videos or one of his forza videos when he was discussing it. As he mentioned in the video I posted, he said the game has changed a lot since the beta. He had a major gripe about the handling and movement of the vehicles, which apparently, he feels has improved. He knew he was going to have to get the game bc of his subscribers, but he didn't really have any high hopes if the driving wasn't improved. He's a Forza fanboy, so he has at least certain expectations for handling a vehicle. I see The Crew as a modern age Burnout Paradise. If someone likes that style of game, then The Crew is right up there.
Anybody here do the Nba Gametime app through their Xbox One? Every time I try to go into a game I get a sever error. Deleted and reinstalled the app numerous times and still get a server error every time. Anybody else have this problem.
I just pulled the trigger on Dragon Age and Forza Horizon 2. I should be good for 5 months. Anyone have experience with Dragon Age?
I've been playing Dragon Age but on the 360. I love the game. Granted, I'm really early on in playing it. I think I'm level 8 barely. There is a ton of stuff to do in the game and that's great. Combat against the tougher guys can require some strategy, but on the normal level, most of the time combat isn't really that difficult or challenging. I'm not far enough along to give a more reasoned critique at this point.
Ok, cool...I'll probably start at normal difficulty because it'll be my first Dragon Age game and I dont know what the **** Im doing. On a different note, anyone have any recommendations for a steering wheel and shifter for racing games? I have a couple hundred dollar budget, would like to go as low as possible without compromising function very much.
Dragon Age too. I hated the first 5 minutes, thinking it linear and lame, almost put it down for Far Cry, but stuck it out and now I'm loving it. It took me a number of days before I learned I should go back to the war room, oops, and that opened up my game substantially. I think it's great fun. A very open world at this point. Good character development. Feels large in space, but also plays small in that you can move around fairly well on foot if you want. At level 12 now. My first dragon did not like me at all. Still have not gotten past it.
I think it's safe to say Sunset bombed pretty hard. I was slightly amused by the few posters who tried to hype it up like it was a system seller. I picked up three copies (all day one editions) at Best Buy earlier today and traded in two. Got my money back on the trade, making the game free. Going to give it to my friend next time I see her. She's actually really hyped up about this game and I think it'll make a good Christmas gift for her.
I don't think it bombed at all, and it's a very good game. The issue is it came out during a 3 week span that included Master Chief Collection, Dragon Age Inquisition (which a lot of people feel is the game of the year), GTA5, NBA2K, Call of Duty and a **** ton of other games (not to mention barely a month after Forza Horizon 2, Destiny, and Shadows of Mordor. I consider myself to be a cynic, and some of y'all even make me cringe with your level of smugness.
I need more clarification on why you don't think it bombed. I'm basing it on the fact I was able to pick up three copies of day one editions a month and a half after it released and the shelves had many more. I purchased more copies of SO than the posters who hyped it up altogether, how sad is that? With all the hype and it did review well, it should've sold better? For example, I don't deny the fact I love Demon Souls, which in turn makes me excited for Bloodborne. But, you don't see me running around trying to hype it up in every post I make or trying to make it a big deal. Btw, I wasn't directing the previous post to you. You should know who I'm speaking about.
