The opponent winning percentage is not comparable. Big 12 teams played 9 conference games. That means 5 Big 12 have an extra loss compared to the Big 10 and SEC. On a tangent: Kirk Herbstreit went to Ohio State University. He picked Ohio State to make it into the playoff. I'm guessing he went to "P.U." for journalism school, because his analysis for that choice stinks.
I didn't listen to the segment, but to be fair, I do recall him pooping all over Ohio State pre Urban Meyer for many years, and pooping on the Big10 as a whole. Perhaps his change in tune has nothing to do with his Alma mater. This is all subjective anyways.
Iowa state is a joke, so that doesn't mean much. I'd much rather see Baylor, but Ohio State is going to make it
This selection show is going to be brutal. Looks like they're going to drag it out as long as possible before actually announcing this thing.

How do you move from 3 to 6? That's just completely stupid. Why have a ranking system at all until after the last game. This is like some idiot posting power rankings ever week. I don't necessarily disagree with the final 4 but the way they came about it doesn't make any sense.
Jeff Long more or less just admitted that the Big 12 submitting co-champions to the committee hurt their chances of getting a team in.
If Baylor would have lost to K-State, TCU would have gone in. But the committee couldn't put TCU in over Baylor, so they took the cop out and put Ohio St. in. Bama is gonna crush them, the Big 10 sucks.
Good for controversy but the decision make no sense. Guarantee you if Alabama was 3rd they wouldn't have fell back 3 spots.
For better or worse, the answer is TV. Those weekly rankings shows make ESPN money, so they'll continue to do them.
Big XII Commissioner Bob Bowlsby will be fired/impeached or whatever immediately. I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen before the bowls start.
