I have a special feeling this year. They play as a team. McHale favors guys with all-around skills--most of them can do a little of everything--and they all are team players. So the units on the floor really work will with their passing and spirit. Plus this team has so much more experience than last year's.
What I love about this team is that everyone is playing with a sense of urgency. Everyone is hustling and playing pg to center. Everyone is rebounding, blocking shots and passing as if they play all five positions. It is truly something special. We can all now see what Mchale is tryly capable of. Maybe instead of just bashing the coach we should see the players that he was given last year. Parsons is doing whatever he is doing in Dallas and I think most of us now can say he has truly been replaced. Lin sucked here and sucks in LA can't blame Mchale for his short comings now... and Asik. Well even Mchale has nothing but wonderful things to say about the big fellow as well. This team is finding ways to win and we're doing it in both ends of the court. Hopefully we find a way to step it up a notch come playoff time.
They are actually playing like the 11th best team in the NBA. Need a significant addition in talent to have a real chance at being champions.
I think DMO's demeanor sums up the whole squad's and has led us to the best team game in the NBA right now. They always interview him and he is always team first. Everybody takes a stand for each other and hold each other accountable. If they keep this integrity throughout the whole year, we will be a lock for the Championship.
Yep. The thing I like about Ariza to is that he rebounds. He just doesn't get easy rebounds to, he gets tough rebounds in traffic too. That's what pissed me off about Parsons, he never went hard after rebounds.
I seem to remember our traits in previous seasons: - lose to crap teams - dig ourselves into a hole early in games and never recover in time - give up big leads and then blow it at the end - Somehow manage to find a way to lose games This season: - Take care of business against crap teams - get a big lead and blow teams out, or atleast hang on for the W - somehow find a way to win games, despite injuries or star players having an off game
I love his defense. It's a rare player that can simultaneously guard his man but be able to read what the opposing team is running and disrupt offenses. The glue guy for me is Terry - he is always yapping away at his teammates, whether he is on the floor or on the bench, which keeps everyone focussed all the time. We don't seem to go through patches where we tune out and lose focus like we did in previous seasons.
Rockets are showing that they have the heart of a champion. I couldn't be prouder of these guys busting tail like they have been and beating quality opponents despite the depleted roster. I tip my hat to Harden, these wins prove that he does make the players around him better and isn't bothered about his own production, ala Tcrap was. I also tip my hat to McHale, something I never thought I would ever say. I use to think this guy couldn't coach his way out of a paper sack but he has these guys buying in and believing that they can beat anyone despite who is suiting up on our side. The real hidden gem in all of this though, Jason Terry. He's both a coach and player for our team and he is giving guys like Nick Johnson and Isiah Canaan a **** ton of confidence. He's been a guiding force for our younger players and I think he's effected the win/loss column quite a bit for us, not so much with his play but his veteran leadership. That said, the injuries are a major concern. Specifically, Dwight. If this guy cannot come back and stay healthy we will lose in the first round. We may be able to win without Jones considering D-Mo has made significant progress but we will not win if Dwight cannot stay on the floor.
No this team is playing very well right now, but we are not going to even make it to the finals or past the 2nd round if even. We have a massively big flaw that will get exploited. And that is: stop James Harden and you turn the rockets into the worst offensive team in NBA history. Because that's what we are right now when Harden goes to the bench. There's no way we can win unless we find another offensive facilitator. Get Dragic in here
I agree in each interview - do everything to help winning. Winning mentality, not pop statements as he was rookie. Just amazing attitude.
Once the team is healthy and Howard is back then teams can't afford to "just stop Harden" at all costs. It will become a game of pick your poison. The key is stopping the opponents from outscoring what we have been scoring and right now the Rockets are doing an excellent job
Yea this team is great right now , im loving it. but on a side note. How bad is Daniels, if even after all these injuries his playing time hasnt changed a bit ? Just send him to the d league if that's the case.
Harden, even when shooting terribly, will find a way to contribute. Last night he shot 5-21 and 1-9 from beyond the arc. And the Rockets always had this game in hand. Defense shows up every night, and so the Rockets can and do win when the offense is not clicking on all cylinders. The Rockets defense even held up well with two of their three best defenders were injured. There is a reason that the old adage "Defense wins championships" is still valid today.
He isn't bad, he is simply too one dimensional. Someone stated it earlier that everyone on our team has been doing a little bit of everything. Hustle on D, pass the ball, shoot, being a threat down low. The Rockets have asked him to develop other aspects to Troy's game and it's just a mayer of patience until he develops it
This is my simple perception. No team is guaranteed to won the Finals (obviously) therefore it is up for grabs by this certain "elite" pool of teams. The way the Rockets are playing puts them in that said pool. I genuinely believe the Rockets have the ability, talent, and chemistry to beat any team in the NBA in a 7 game series.
Repped. Unbelievable grit n D. As in D-Mo n Go ! I never saw this coming ! Who could ? Oh yeah, the guys in that locker room.
