Our Rockets squad have been finding ways to win and standing up and facing adversity in ways they hadn't last year. I think it's undeniable that our 3 and D specialist, Patrick Beverley, is our ideal point guard. James, the bench, and Dmo are demonstrating their efforts to make this a true championship chase. I would argue that Dmos recent development might be the most significant factor in how the team can match up come playoff time. All in all, the Rockets are on fire. They are winners and they aren't settling for being called anything different regardless of what new hurdles they have to clear.
Can you imagine if Dmo back in April was like he is now? Could score in the post and help guard Aldridge when Howard, Asik, and Tjones weren't cutting it. Wow the possibility. I blame McHale for not allowing him to develop much earlier.
Hopefully Harden can come back for the Warriors game. We're playing good, but we're gonna need everyone we can get to beat them. They're playing like champions too.
With the improvements from Dorsey,Black and DMO, I would be confident in Rockets Chances with just Bev and Harden. If Dwight comes back that game I dont think GSW has a chance.
The glue guy and unsung hero has been Ariza. The guy played 43 minutes last night and again tonight. Watching him play is really a treat. He is exactly what our team needs this season.
Oh absolutely. Trevor Ariza, if you're reading this...Thank you for choosing Houston and giving it your all
Do you think Beverley and Canaan rotation - along with Harden and Terry picking up any slack if both guys are sitting - is good enough? I mean, with the way everyone is playing I wouldn't mind seeing our resources go into a lengthy back up center
Yes they're fine Canaan is a great shooter and can create. Bev is an elite defender and all heart. Keep them all, we just need another rim protected and t jones healthy and we have a heck of a team with good chemistry despite injuries and defensive quality
Nope, sorry, I just watched a Yahoo Sports clip with Spears about who will win the West and there was not a single mention of the Rockets - even though the top 8 teams (Rockets excepted) plus OKC were all mentioned as possible winners. I mean, they can't be wrong, right?
Before the season started, and up until about 4 games ago, I felt like the Rockets were missing several pieces, but with the improving play of Motiejunas, Dorsey, Black, and Canaan, I feel like there is really only one piece that we seriously need to add to compete in the playoffs. That one piece is someone to take the pressure off Harden offensively. I still think someone needs to be able to make some plays when Harden is resting and at times during the game to relieve pressure on him, or fill in when he's having a poor game. I'm rapidly liking our chances more with Jones & D-Mo against the elite PF's of the West, and if Dorsey can continue to improve, he may be the rim protection we need when Dwight rests during the playoffs. It's going to be a very interesting season seeing how these guys evolve after everyone is back and healthy again.
I blame the well understood fact that it takes huge 7 foot NBA players longer to mature than any other type of NBA player.
All i know is that if i'm a western conference team i will not look forward to playing this team and their suffocating defense in the fourth quarter. It's become apparent that this defense is a product of a solid system and coaching due to all the injuries.
