Ronnie price is not bad at attacking the rim. He had one game where he really played well. He is quite turnover prone also though, especially traveling calls. Trying to be as non biased as possible I don't think he should start over Lin. The Lakers are in rebuild mode and I don't think they should get Rondo either. There is a reason the Celtics have been shopping him for awhile now.
Rondo is an interesting player, but requires a very specific roster type to excel. Like in the Garnet and Pierce days. One thing is for sure, if you have a star that needs the rock in his hands to succeed he just would not work. The ideal team would be the Cavs, except they have Irving. He also would probably prove highly beneficial to NOP also. Or the Heat. But trade rumors have been floating around Rondo for years. Either teams don't like what he brings to the locker room, or Ainge is asking an arm and a leg for him. My guess is that Rondo will finish out his career in Boston.
Games in which Ronnie was really good = ONE Games played so far = 20 as in 1/4 of the season Thanks for confirming the elite scrubidudity of Ronnie. It takes years of hard work and dedication to average 30% from the field like he is doing. He is attacking the rim, all right. It probably needs to be changed.
Lin starting or coming off the bench won't make a difference to the Lakers as long as their frontline keeps playing horrible defense. Price might be a better defender but they were getting killed by the Celtics with Price on the court, too, because they had no rim protection and guys like Zeller were just roaming free. Same old story for them all season. Rondo got 16 assists and many of them didn't come from him making a deep penetration, forcing help and dishing. They were either passes made in transition or made without having to force help via dribble penetration because the Lakers bigs got confused by simple movements. In fact, Rondo was not shooting well at all last night even when the Lakers often had his defender leave him to double team someone else. The Lakers, especially the bigs, just left him with too many easy passing options. I think it may help them to have Lin in with the 2nd unit more. Right now, it is only Swaggy P trying to create and all his does is chuck long jumpers most of the time. But again, moving these minutes around is just window dressing that doesn't fix the real problem.
I'm glad we agree that he shouldn't start over Lin. I guess the reason for your rant is to emphasize how bad Lin is by extension since this is even a debate. To me it's not a debate.
Lin like every Laker ever is being smothered on offense by Kobe, his own team mate. LAL fans should know that by now. Plus I hear that Kobe can be pretty poisonous in the locker room.
Interesting because all along I was told that Harden was the ball hog and deliberately marginalized Lin. I was also told that Lin and the Lakers would be a perfect match since Lin can learn from Kobe who has done it all before, has nothing to prove and is not selifsh unlike Harden who is a manufactured star and plays for his own numbers since he has a lot to prove.
The reason for my rant was the hilarity of your post. Specifically, you implying Ronnie is not bad at attacking the rim because he had ONE good game out of 20. I even isolated that part to help you out a little. Guess I should have walked you through step by step.
I was childishly savoring others' pain over on that Lin team BBS and I saw this from laserboy: "According to 82games.com, opposing point guards have posted a 23.0 player efficiency rating against him (Lin). That means he makes his counterpart, whoever that may be, look slightly better than Damian Lillard (22.83 PER) on a nightly basis." http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...tacking-up-the-full-roster-in-december/page/5 http://www.82games.com/1415/14LAL1.HTM#bypos
Gotcha. I was just describing his relative strengths. His shot is horrendous, his driving ability isn't too shabby.
Nobody could make heads or tails out of all of that defensive statistical crap. Even the experts. They waited until xRAPM came out and even that was imprecise. Currently SportVU data is the gold standard. The top right column gives the overall defensive performance of the player. Lin is slightly worse than average. On the defensive side D-Mo has a -12.8 rating and Hibbert has a -8.7 rating. Those are the top defensive performers.
Dunno if he'll even be in the league by then. I'm jk. Despite his "point shaving style" of play, he will probably be lucrative and appealing to another team in the league.
Most Lin haters in here are actually LOOF.... Very covert way of disguising themselves. Lin Obsessed Only Fans. I figured them out a long time ago. King1 Zboy VanityHalfBlack
