His fan base is by far the worst in all over sports. Like Clutch and others have mentioned it's the same in anywhere he goes. It honestly is sad to see so many people living vicariously through him and melting down accordingly. Shroopy is a prime example on this board
In this case it's just Lin driving himself out of town reminiscent of how he drives himself out of games with the jump in the air turnovers.
Great story (no sarcasm) and it's good to hear NBA players reaching back to old well wishing contacts. Many players forget where they ultimately came from as they move on to greener pastures. As far as your question about the hate Lin gets, it will probably do you well to understand that it is not personal for most fans. There might be a few asshats who genuinely dislike him and want the worse for him and even among them, it is not wholly directed at Lin but Lin as an extension of his fans. Lin fans, in their infinite obliviousness, do not seem to understand just how far they had pushed us Rockets fans over the edge. I hate Lin fans even though I do not know them IRL (I am not rooting for Lin to do bad though, just when he plays against the Rockets). That is how much they have traumatized the CF community. When people hate on Lin or relish Lin's bad games, it is less of a dislike towards Lin than a sadistic pleasure in "sticking" it to the ghost of Lin fans saying, "Hey we didn't do shat to cause your homie to play poorly. No one was holding him back. He just plays like that, because he ain't that good!" Like most things in life, the truth about Lin is closer to the middle. Lin is not as bad as his die-hard critics make him to be. He is also no where near the plateau of awesomeness his fans so desperately want him to be.
LOL. Lin pretty much contradicted every single one of his crazy fans with the quote below. They have been saying all along how Houston was not a right fit for him and he is going to thrive in LA. It must suck to be a Lin crazy and be proven wrong time after time. “Houston was the ideal system for me,” Lin said earlier this week, “personally as a player in terms of spreading the floor, running and making plays and having guys with a lot of space, stretch fours. That’s the ideal system, but that’s not what we have here.”
nope nope nope. McFail still racist destroyed Linsanity confidence and turned Lin into a scrub nothing to do with Lin, Lin the best Pg, McFail sucks, Morey Waisis Harden ballhog
WOW he said that? he must be miserable in LA. I've never heard Lin say anything bad about any system or team... until now.
I don't remember any Lin crazy saying that he will thrive in L.A system. Any sane person knows that all he's gonna do is to give Kobe the ball.
yeah, they aren't really sane people I can't even count how many times in the GARM I've seen LOF's wanting to get Lin to the Lakers so he can be "treated right" and be "respected"
And the LOF'ers thought Lin was abused to the point of pulling the race card out even at times against McHale and Harden. -Still think you guys had it that bad in Houston? -Still think Harden was a selfish teamate that wouldn't pass Lin the ball? -Still think McFail had it out for Lin when he didn't draw up the final play of the game for Lin to create in an Iso play with Harden off the ball? -Still offended that Morey used the #7 in marketing Carmelo Anthony (a SF/PF) to Houston when all of LA, their top player, and their management are leaking out that they are going after Rajon Rondo who is clearly someone they would prefer to have over you??? Yeah... Lin had it REAL bad in Houston.
.. .. how has he done this? No offense, but he's still the angelic, docile, law abiding citizen off the court who plays piano and isn't comfortable around women stereotype that people have. I don't think he's changed anything, except make people hesitate about hyping up the next Asian American based on a week's worth of performances. I see many references about "I went to harvard"... or in panda's case, "i know people from harvard"... name dropping and trying their best to stay relevant based on titles without any actual, hard, analysis. That's because it just isn't there. While you may thrive in the classroom, dominate the books and tests--- sports and basketball IQ requires a different kind of intelligence that people who relate to Lin just don't have. And that's why fellas like myself have to come down hard on you, you'll just keep living in denial otherwise and thinking it's fine because you went to Harvard.
And never forget how they treated Clutch. They treated him like dirt, yet couldn't get enough of his lin interviews . Does lakers ground have a person who interviews lin each game ? I'll never forgive loFs on how they treated #1
