4-3, which is good considering new players and early in the season. If Mavs fans are panicking over a player struggling while they have the best offense in the league with a 15-5 record, well they need to be smacked.
Well there's expectations that come with getting paid max money figures. i guess that's where some of the criticism is coming from.
Even if you pretend they're paying him only $10m, it's still pretty bad considering he provides no D.
We finally firmly agree on something. He is getting paid Harden money for a less than Ariza performance. Morey made the right call. Again.
I can't stand the Mavs, but Cuban isn't a moron. He knows Parsons isn't worth the deal he offered. Look at the timeline, all signs pointed to Bosh (wasn't it even announced?), then the Parsons deal gets signed (Cuban makes him feel special, even more of his sinister plot - 'Ok Houston, you got Harden, Howard, Bosh - now I'm making Parsons feel like a number 1 guy, and you have no choice but to match, because you don't have any real way of signing anyone else of substance') Wasn't Cuban saying that he was sure Houston would match, and then he'd sign Lance Stephenson? Bosh fell through, Morey grabbed Ariza, Cuban paid first class rates for an economy ticket.
Cuban definitely wanted Parsons for spiteful reasons. The city loved Parsons. Morey LOVED Parsons. Morey's daughter loved Parsons. Cuban thought Rockets would match no matter what, so he structured that deal so it would hurt us as much as possible. Morey doesn't let his heart dictate negotiations. I'm sure he wanted to keep Parsons, but it just wasn't good business sense. I mean, Morey went as far as to offer a 2 year max contract to compensate for the longer, more secure contract Parsons wasn't getting. Parsons isn't worth one year of max money.
A player can waive a trade kicker. It would be sweet if Parsons waives it to go back to Houston and Cuban has to kick in a draft pick for the salary relief.
We don't want Parsons either. Not when Ariza and Terry are providing leadership, scoring, defense, and chemistry with Harden. "We must be the one who signs the Chandler Parsons, not the one who overpays him" ...
Ellis is playing out of his mind right now; he also wants a max contract. Cuban will be stuck paying two perimeter guys who don't play D the max. Serves him right.
Parson's stats compared to Marion's last year in Dallas player.........PPG....Reb.....Asst.....Steals..... ..FG%......3P%......FT% Marion.........8.4....5.3......1.9.......(.9)..... ...(.482)...(.358)...(.785) Parsons.......14.1...4.8......2.1.......(.9)...... ..(.408)...(.319)...(.712) and then there is his second half play. Quoted from this Mavericks website "60% of Parsons’ second-half shots are three-pointers and he’s hitting 29.5% on those." -AND- "In his last 5 games, Parsons is shooting 29.4% in the second half with a spicy 15.8% from three and 55.6 percent on free throws." That being said they are winning, and I still expect Parsons to be about the same as he was here by the end of the year. Good, but not a star player to build a contender around.
Because of Dirk and Tyson. And a lesser extent Parsons. And guys like Wright, Harris and Barea stepping up. Monta isn't good IMO.
Who did he ever make better with his playmaking and court vision and leadership? He is an offensive glue guy of sorts who can definitely handle the ball and is a decent passer but his comments are really delusional (other than him not being a shooter - right on with that).
