The whole Drummond proposal is insane. Love Plowdog but if this is the kind of stuff his source is sharing with him then it seems to be obvious how far out of whack this guy is. Who knows. BBallholic taking that and stretching it out is even more insane. This whole thread is insane. I really care enough about the rockets where I have been looking at this thread constantly since July. I'm wondering if it has distracted me from the fact we mostly have a complete team if youngsters continue to develop. One offensive creator and a decent backup big could possibly win us a ring. I never dreamed James Harden would improve so much and that gives me great faith with or without Howard. Motiejunas and Canaan seem like they will be impact NBA players. We have leadership and youth now. The thread is what it is now. Crazy rumors and insanity.
I heard the rockets are interested in LBJ I'll post some videos of his passing later looks like it will cost us a lot though. Hearing, they want all LOF's and I'm not sure Le$ is willing to trade them.
At this point, the only players I would give up for Gogi is Canaan or Capella. Everyone else too valuable to give up for someone that could leave in the summer.
i still remember that one time when arnold traded mr. drummond in for mrs. garrett and went to peekskill instead of staying on park avenue, maybe it was because of the gooch i forget but in any case, there is clearly a precedent and all you jealous ingrates who don't even have 35yrs of experience in this game are just asking to get permabanned from the insiders mansion for life ya'll best check that sassy insolence b4 it's too late
So what's going on in this ridiculous thread today? Maybe I should see if Chico is up for tweeting sometime soon
Here is what I said: We don't know what's going to happen with the Detroit dynamic by the deadline. But money talks and ............... walks. And Detroit can PAY Monroe more money than any other team can. We also don't know how SVG feels about Drummond. Drummond doesn't exactly fit his previous offense as Drummond has demonstrably struggled in the post up game this year. SVG could feel about Drummond like I feel about Drummond. That is he could feel that Drummond has a high probability of being a bust because he can't shoot free throws at greater than a 40% clip. And SVG may question his ability to learn the game. He may see the possibility of resetting through the lottery, retaining Monroe on a 5-year deal and getting one of either Okafor or Townes along with DMo as a quick rebuild to go along with cap space to go after Dragic or possibly Rondo in free agency. Again I repeat: You guys that think Drummond is untouchable.....that's just your opinion. He may indeed be untouchable. Or SVG may view Drummond as his rebuild ticket. None of us know at this point.
Nobody is saying he's "untouchable". What people are saying is the notion of Detroit trading him is highly, highly, HIGHLY unlikely, given the nature of the NBA and how it handles young players with his upside. It's foolish to think otherwise.
And I am not saying Drummond is getting traded either. We all know that 90% of trade discussions never complete into an actual trade. So it is highly unlikely that Drummond gets traded. Just as unlikely as Monroe getting traded. But it has been discussed. And ALL trades BEGIN with discussions.
I missed the link for where you saw Houston and Detroit were in "talks" for Drummond could you please repost it or was it insider info
I guess the difference between you and I is that I don't really care about trade "discussions" that are hardly even discussions. Saying that Drummond/Monroe/etc. has been "discussed" isn't much of anything to me. When I hear about a trade rumor that actually has legs and looks like it could actually potentially happen, then I'll pay attention, because as you said...all trades begin with discussions, so it's not worth paying attention to unless there's reason to believe it could happen.
