hey he's a night clubbin video star man ! leave parsons alone..........oh he won't shut up ? well there's that.
Good luck to Parsons taking away some of Ellis' drives to the basket. Let's see: Ellis is better taking it to the basket, Dirk is a better shooter. That makes Parson . . . #3. Is there anyone, I repeat anyone, who did not know, during the summer, that Ellis would have priority over Parsons in some areas, and Dirk would have priority over Parsons in others? Can you believe I actually had to ask over the summer, as a serious question, "Is Parsons even the #1 option?" That was actually a real question a few months ago.
Exactly swang. For all purposes it was being reported that Bosh was coming here. Cuban had lined up Lance Stephenson to be the 3rd wheel for the Mavs, he threw the contract at Parsons to screw Les hard, and to stop Morey from making any of his 'little moves' the rest of the way. Morey pulled the carpet out from under him.
So this whole showing so much personal support to parsons (partying with him at the club, and that weird photo that came out) is just him trying to pretend he wanted him bad the whole time?
100% spot on. Cuban's stubborn arrogance/denial may eventually run-off Carlisle. He better wise up and humble himself before things get worse for him. As for Parsons telling the media he's really a point-forward...
What is it with Dan Fegan anyway? Dwight's convinced he's a post player (although to be fair, he seems a little more opportunistic than demanding when he's actually playing this year), Parsons is convinced he's a playmaker, Ellis is convinced he's a superstar. No wonder the Spurs wont sign any Fegan players.
The fact that he thinks he is a point forward tells you all you need to know. But just in case you wanted to know more, the fact that he thinks his role is to be a spot up shooter while his coach wishes he would attack the rim more makes the situation even funnier.
He doesn't fit there. He's their third perimeter scorer behind Dirk and Monta. And neither Dirk nor Monta is the point. So he is really battling for he ball. Parsons was the 2nd perimeter option in Houston, and the #1 (Harden) was also the primary ballhandler. That left a lot of touches for Parsons. Cuban was expecting a stretch 4 or something.
Transitioning to a new team to a new role takes time people. Kevin Love has sucked literally before the last 2 games. Lebron has sucked for his standards pretty much the whole year. When you change teams with heightened expectations, it takes the team and player time to mesh and understand one another. Parsons may never live up to his contract, but it's ridiculous to judge him not even 1/4 through the season.
I would argue, sans Lin, Parsons might have even had an uptick this year in his stats if he stayed here. There isn't enough ball in Dallas for those guys. Also, the fact that you are paying your 3rd and 4th/5th options more than your 1st and 2nd option in Dallas is comical. Essentially Dallas is paying $32 million in salaries to the Chandler boys and Brendan Haywood. Mark Cuban got the first half of moneyball right (in buying low on Dirk and Monta), but the second half of it leaves me scratching my head.
He's better off as 6th man. Actually the Mavs are better of benching or trading Monta "chuck it all."
