(Doesn't have to be UPS) I was supposed to have a package delivered on Wednesday, despite the package still being in transit in a different state. Now, I called UPS and they set up a lost package investigation. Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, how long did it take them to find the package....how did it play out?
UPS couldn't do much when they lost a package of mine. Called Amazon who sent the item again. may try contacting the vendor.
I did this too. Amazon replaced a $400+ item -- no questions asked. Another idea - try to see what your credit card company can do. Unless you paid with bitcoin like a dumb.
One day late? Packages get misplaced and found all the time at UPS. You might just get it next week. I'd wait at least 3 days.
they weren't able to finish an "investigation" when I bought a high-end camera that they said they DID deliver to my parents' house... but then it was never "delivered." I think I know they took it, but they never "found it." They said that since it was a person, not a business, who sent it to me, they had to start the investigation, not me. I asked them to, they did, and I never got my camera nor my money back. UPS still continues to say that they made a delivery... but I know they didn't because my dad was there all day and no one showed up to deliver... I think they were just scared to drive through there and kept my camera. I don't have a good opinion of their drivers... to me, they don't look like honest peeps so I try to use FedEx or even the US PS whenever possible.
This^^ Happens all the time. I'm surprised they even opened up a claim for you. They should have just told you to wait a little more, especially if the tracking shows it's in transit. Tracking isn't perfect either. It could be at a hub in the city, waiting to go out today or tomorrow and they just haven't scanned it yet. What was the delivery method? Overnight? 2 day? 3 days? Just regular delivery? How long has it been since they sent it out?
[Obligatory gif of ups delivery guy stepping out of truck, throwing package at house then speeding off]
Especially 1 day late during the holiday season. Everything is coming slow right now, the only guaranteed delivery window is Overnight and sometimes 2 days (last year 2-3 days turned into 3-5 days for USPS at least). I'd just give it a week before going through the hassle. If you bought it off Amazon they'll refund you no questions asked, from anywhere else it may be a little more annoying.
See, Amazon has amazing customer service. I hate how they have to pay for something because of the fault of UPS. I bought from buy/rakuten via ebay during black Friday.
Well, it was 'in transit' however, not in the facility at my state. It was in transit at a city a few states up north. And when I called to check up on the expected delivery date (yesterday) , the agent informed me that I would still be getting it that day. I was weary, rightfully so, because again, there's no way it could get to me if it wasn't even in my state - not with normal shipping. They shipped it out on Monday. They did have an original delivery date set for Thursday, but when tracking the package a few days ago, said I would be getting it a bit earlier - on Wednesday. But the part that has me worried is the fact that the package has been in Oregon since being shipped out on Monday.
Ups lost my package a few weeks ago. It was supposed to deliver in three days and it was over a month with no info when i tracked it. I called and they opened an investigation. I requested the item to be returned to me. They said i had to go to the ups store to get my money back. Terrible experience, and i cant believe they made me do that. Also, they stole my phone last year. They delivered an empty box and the phone box was sliced open from the corners. I got it replaced, but it really upset me. During that time period many of my packages came with the tape broken like someone kept checking what was inside.
I get UPS all the time. Since Thanksgiving, everything has been at least 1 day late for me. That is pretty normal for the Christmas season for all the carriers on packages that aren't sent overnight. Back when I was selling guns, I did have a whole bunch of packages go missing after my regular Fed Ex Ground guy discovered what I was I was getting. I called Fed Ex, explained exactly what was disappearing, and never saw that driver again.
They lost some dog food I had ordered. Chewy dot com just sent another bag of food when I told them. UPS did an "investigation" but nothing came of it.
they will get it to u dont worry they will be assholes about it and not say sorry so u will just have to deal with it happened to me last week i have only had issues with ups i have had no issues with fed ex or usps
this can happen too. also UPS said they delivered my package early in the morning and asked me to check with my neighbors. what do you know, UPS dropped it off at the wrong house. it happens. i'm glad they were honest enough to admit it, the neighbors that is.
