Assuming and hoping are two very different things. You can't call out a fanbase based on statements that were never made.

I'm calling out a fanbase for being against the kid from day one and now assuming he has some sort of catastrophic injury that will limit or end his career rather than having a more intelligent take on the situation. He had an injury that is fairly rare that often causes complications in recovery and now there are complications yet some immediately started calling him Greg Oden and started talking about arthritis. Occam's razor really should come into play IMO. Do we assume that he's having setbacks from his surgery, a surgery to fix an injury that often causes setbacks in recovery, or do we assume that he has arthritis or polio or MS?

A few people on the internet is not the fan base dude. Its fair to assume that people will call him injury prone when he has been injured a good amount of the last 2 seasons. We all want a JJ Watt 2.0 but he hasn't proven a thing so far. You have some bizarre obsession with defending this guy's injury history. He will be healthy when he is healthy.

Agreed, you should remember that. I've been right on most things Texans related this season with a few notable exceptions. I didn't see the Mallett trade coming and I didn't think we'd lose to the Steelers. Other than that, I've been pretty dead on. I was calling the Clowney pick in January, I picked 8-8 for the Texans record this year.....

I am totally with you on what you're saying, but to say that a meniscus tear is a rare injury that often causes setbacks is extremely misguided. It is neither of those things.

That's the only conundrum on my part.

Hey, good for you. I have a clock that hasn't had a battery in years and it's still right a couple times a day. Many other people had correct predictions without the cherry on top of being a complete d******d in every thread they're in, Texans-related or not.

Because he's the poster Clutchfans deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll flame him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A know-it-all jackass.

Meniscus tears in general aren't rare, but most of them are medial meniscus tears and those aren't usually that big a deal. He didn't have a medial meniscus tear, he had a lateral meniscus tear which is more rare and often causes setbacks in recovery. Look if up if you like.

Contrary to your belief, I don't actually know it all, it only seems that way compared to some who know oh so little. I see how you could have made that mistake though.

LOL. You predicted the Texans would be competing with Indy for the division. After the Pitt loss, you though the Texans' season was over and they should tank. Before the Cleveland game, you thought the Texans were giving up on the season going to Mallett, and that his immobility would be a disaster. Then after the Cinci game, you were b****ing that Mallett cost the team their playoff opportunity. You're all over the place and rarely right on anything.

But to your credit, you did say the Texans would draft the guy that all the analysts and scouts were saying was the likely #1 pick in the draft for the last 2 years. So you did get that right.

No, the fan base was realistic and saw it for what it was.

You can have sunshine up your ass as long as you want. However, over time it became clear that the concerns about Clowney were realistic.

The lack of production his last year in college.... being called out by Spurrier.... his odd list of injuries from high school through the pre season.... the odd injury early in his NFL career... his missing more games than expected.... his tweeting during a game.... his lack of passion .... having coaches say they think he will play while he says he probably won't.

I HOPE Clowney can turn into Bruce Smith..... but you can wish in one hand and **** in the other.

You have literally been wrong on everything other than the consensus #1 pick going #1.

High draft picks don't get paid like they used to. Yeah, he got paid in comparison to the general public, but not really relative to his peers. Players really don't get PAID until their 2nd contract. Andrew Luck is making less than Kyle Orton, Matt Cassell, Matt Moore, Josh McCown, and Matt Schaub. If somebody is after money, there absolutely is the incentive to go out and play well so they can really cash in when they get off that rookie deal.

Amazing how a poster can come from obscurity and rise to the levels of doucheness as quickly as he has. Quite impressive really.

Heh, you guys are adorable. Anyway I suppose I should have expected this level of banter trying to talk football on a basketball blog. Feel free to droll on with your moronic half baked takes and your "sky is falling" nonsense, I won't get any the way anymore.
