Capela time!

 

Nah - he's back to 50% inside (With the other 50% getting blocked).

He was 100% blocked a few games back (sample size is small). Hasn't been assisted in close this year, so every attempt he has had, he has created for himself.
I think there is a LOT to be excited about with Nick Johnson. Gritty defender, has range, can get himself to the hoop and finish. The only issue is adjusting to the speed of the game, and the size and athleticism of the inside troops. Once he has that down, he looks like he will be a very handy rotation player.

Might not be this year, but next year he may come in handy.

 

A Capela-Dmo frontcourt could be beautiful in about 2 years.

 

Johnson looks a couple years away IMO. Thought he looked extremely over matched the other day. Obviously this is to be expected.

3 3rd teamers as backups. Think how it will be if Dmo went down also. We'd have a problem.

 

Like we don't already? DMo is playing well, but our big man rotation is sorely lacking without Dwight and Jones.

 

It's his knees, he needs to be EXTRA EXTRA careful with them. Harden got this.

 

There was a time when we had only role players and no superstars (e.g. Kevin Martin, Scola, Lowry) when we would handily beat a Memphis team of ZBo and Gasol. It was done by running them out of the building and making a lot of 3 pointers.

To win this game we will have to play fast and furious. If it is a half-court type of game, the odds are completey against us.

 

Bring back the role-player only team!

That was also a time when Gasol hadn't spent 3 consecutive summers evolving into twice the player he was every previous respective season. The man went from Gasol's brother to Gasol, to Gasol the DPOY, to "holy **** Gasol is having an MVP-type season". The guy coming to the TC tomorrow will be that last dude, you can't really compare.

I agree that Memphis will probably eat us alive if we don't run them out the building though. The question is, how can you find the stamina to run a team out of the building when everyone's playing overtime cause you're missing half your rotation?

 

I agree that Gasol is turning into a mega star now, so things are different now. I still reiterated that running is the only way we are going to beat that team. We can do it if the 3-point shot is on (hello Cisco).

 

We blew them out because those were sorry Memphis teams. They might be the best in the league now. I'll be surprised if this game is close tomorrow.

 

After losing this game, we will fight for playoffs spot.

 

I think we started doing that (runniing) a bit more with our squad in the last few games. It has been fun watching them run a liiiiitle more and fluid post moves by DMO.

 

Well, if we do a run and gun tomorrow, he will definitely be in an RVG - type offense.
