Hey guys, I got my first console over the long weekend. An Xbox One. It came bundled with a Kinect and Dance Central Spotlight. For those of you who have Xbox Ones, is it worth keeping the Kinect? Or would you rather trade it for a few more games?

I'll be using the Xbox for casual gaming and Netflix/Amazon Instant Video.

I thought I'd tap into the wisdom of Clutchfans here for some input :)

Don't trade it in. It's priceless for the voice / gesture controls alone.
Do you have any idea how many times I've said "Xbox, record that"? It saves a lot of hassle over using control commands. They've implemented a lot of controller shortcuts that help (you can tell the console was originally intended to be used with Kinect), but I love mine.
It'll also save you about 30 minutes every time you need to put in a code, you just let the Xbox scan the QR code and voila.

If you're using it for Netflix, you'll definitely get your money's worth. There's a lot of times I don't even look for a controller because I can get a movie playing, and control it with just voice or gesture.

Kinect is solid...I use it every day. It's actually a hassle to use a controller now. Just talk and it does it...even if I have to repeat something, it's still worth it.

I only use it to pause movies while I go to the bathroom.

    Hooray Technology!

Yeah I use my kinect constantly. Being able to control the full tv experience with voice is awesome. It always takes me a minute to adjust now when I use a TV Without it.

Yeah I still have the 360, but I use the voice commands a lot. In fact, I get vaguely annoyed that my PS3 doesn't have the same functionality.

Plus, sometimes my five year old daughter will pipe up with hilarious comments like "Xbox! Turn on!"

Reasons to keep it for me are the voice commands as everyone else has mentioned.

Being able to say xbox "????" and the c ommand just comes in is pretty awesome.

    -Xbox record that
    -xbox go home
    -xbox you're drunk (jk)
    -xbox watch tv
    -xbox launch
    -xbox go to "'''"

    etc. It's worth keeping it.

I use it all the time. It's nice.

Is it worth the extra money? Idk. Up to you.

Not Xbox record that or the QR code, no. Gestures and voice work, but not as well as the new Kinect.

If you're using it as an entertainment center, yes. If its in another room where you only game, no. At that time get a ps4.
