Unfortunately I think that Texas will be one of the last states to lift the prohibition of mar1juana given that to this day there are still "dry counties" as a leftover from the prohibition of Alcohol.

They just need to get it on the ballot. Weed is not a blue vs red issue. I can see a lot of people publicly speaking out against it but voting for it in the booth.

Texas citizens can't go over the heads of the state legislators like they can in Califonia or Washington. We can't just collected enough signatures and make it happen.

I've had the good fortune of "sampling" some legal mar1juana from Colorado. Now, I'm no pothead by any means. Did typical late teen years smoking - not every day but enough to know. But it had been a while since then. I'm in my mid 30's now....

So, maybe weed has gotten better generally. In "my day", you could almost smell the formaldehyde every once in a while.

This Colorado stuff, I mean they all have these names with detailed stats... and you open it up, and it is just an overpowering smell of amazing quality weed. Take one hit, it goes down smoothly, it tastes great, it gets you high in a good way.

In short, yes, the above makes absolute sense!

As for Texas, I started a thread 6 months ago gathering opinion on when it would be legal and the vast majority said not for a while. I suspect 2020. It's not going to be on 2016 ballot. Unlikely to make 2018... but frankly if I'm a supporter I'm pushing for 2020 over 2018. The younger generation comes out to vote in much higher numbers during presidential election years.

The tide is turning..... I smoke most days and I equate myself with Jews, gays and other discriminated against minorities. Tired of being persecuted while people can drink alcohol and smoke tobacco all day.

    Colorado weed is expensive?

Price of Weed says that an ounce of pot costs $244 in Colorado, $335 in Texas, and $257 in Mexico.

    Man, I love the Internet.

Well, that site is way off. LOLs. Way off the mark.

That site actually says Medium Quality weed in CO is less expensive than Low Quality ... HUH? Nice fact checking of them

...click on the $ sign for CO isf you don't believe

High Quality: $243.84 / oz. (n=3058) Way WRONG
Medium Quality: $195.82 / oz. (n=2747) Way WRONG
    Low Quality: $225.3 / oz. (n=175) A little low

You really want to quote that site again?

The weed in CO that the article is discussing is over $400/oz, and several strains over $450 approaching $500 You can't buy any legal weed in Boulder for much less than $250/oz, unless you have a medicinal license discount card. And if you are out of state, even more.

How can that site you quoted be so wrong when there are actually real menu prices on the internet?

this is the shake they collect from the joint rolling apparatus that use to roll quality bud. They have different prices of joints. What is pure bud that doesn't touch fingers is sold at actual gram prices I mentioned above. What falls off (shake) is used for cooking or for cheaper joints that you are quoting the price of.

    No Worries,,,

I have no motive to disagree or agree here. I just know the prices almost exactly and the various cultivating and assembly methods they employ. There is still a lot of misinformation going on, that isn't really helping.

Weed prices are out of sight. Average man can't afford it. Gov't needs to step in and do something.

We have ObamaCare. What about ObamaWeed?

    Thanks in advance Obama.

Yeah it's not blue vs red but I just think that there are enough old school types that'll keep it illegal for whatever reason. I'd vote for it though.

    Not sure if serioius?

this is misinformation. Illegal weed has a LOT of overhead that legal weed simply doesn't. That's why top strains cost the same in taxed areas like CO/CA and illegal states like TX. And expect the Legal supply price to come down more and more as legal demand increases.

For now, Legal and Illegal are about equal price for comparable quality. Soon, as the article says, Illegal pot could well go out of business.
