this is all true. but i would point out that with proper coaching AD can do what DMo does on defense plus much more.

This is also true, but I would point out that it's a hard thing to learn and it takes big men a lot of time to learn how to defend (some guys get it faster). Sometimes they just don't learn it at all (Lee).

He is very young. And when Davis gets defensive rotations and shading down I have no doubt that he will be as dominant as Howard in his prime.

These are the stats that tell us how good of a defender Davis is. But they pale in comparison to Hibbert and D-Mo. But don't get me wrong. Negatives in the right column are great.

JV is liability on defensive end for raptors. He can block some shots but thats about it. Its first reason why Jonas is only playing 25min this season. DMo is much better on defense.

See that is what I am talking about. Valan has played an entire season or two. Dmo has played sporadically. Of course you go with the bigger sample size.

However I am willing to change my mind when Dmo can put it together over 1 or 2 seasons not until then.

I am not talking about Defense, I am talking about the complete package.

Sure I think you can nitpick about everyone in the league and I think even Lebron has some tiny flaws.

That makes Davis more humane and not the Unibrow Monster alien that the media is projecting him to be.

People are forgetting how young Davis still is.
It is scary how good he already is and how much better he can become.

And that is a great attitude. I have cautioned people that the jury is still out on D-Mo. I get really worried when people start being more enthusiastic about D-Mo than I am. It is a long way down from those exuberant heights.

It would be pretty close to Hakeem Olajuwon.

I don't think anyone's been scared of the T-Wolves since Keven Garnett was traded.

(Except for maybe Luis Scola getting stepped on by Kevin Love.)

AD doesn't have tiny flaws. He's just not a good defender. Comparing LeBron's defense (when he's trying) and AD's is like comparing Harden's offense with Brandon Knight's. Not even in the same discussion.

Al Jefferson did more bad things to Rockets' defenders than any other T-Wolves' player ever.

Thanks. I'm not sure many here on the board would think the defensive scheme was McHale's. Many here would like to see someone else. That is why I posted my thoughts about the coaching. I think he (and his staff) are doing as good as can be expected given the circumstances.

You are welcome. There are but a few (delusional) fans that would not attribute the Rockets elite defense at least partially to McHale. With three starters out the Rockets still are putting up the fifth best defensive numbers in the league. That has to be a team effort.

DMo guarding Marc Gasol in tonight's game...

    Gasol was 4-8 for 8 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, 3 turnovers, -21

    NICE :)

Defensive rebounding and shotblocking plus steals are a major part of Defense in my books.

So he is not bad in those areas, and elite in some of them.

Once Dwight gets back, DMo will be relegated to the perimeter, taking maybe 3 or 4 shots a game (all threes), and the Rockets pace will slow down to accommodate Dwight's awesome post offense and pinpoint pass outs.

    I see a trade.
    And I'm not talking DMo.

Nah, Morey would never do it. But maybe he should.
