Santa Clara has amazing attendance for a D league team. Although small, that gym looked like it was at capacity. Awesome to see the D League become more and more prominent. Capela's numbers are just filthy. I would love to have him up in Houston. He can get OTJ training just as good as the rest of our guys. 15 minutes of Capela a night might just be devastating. Our defense!!
I am not a Perkins fan. I did see him play several times in high school. Then he was working on a nice form for his jump shot. I guess that all fell through when he got to the Celtics and the NBA. I've been living in Houston officially 30 + years. More than that if you count the times I visited here growing up. My hometown is in the Beaumont area, and I follow Beaumont area basketball quite a bit.
We need a Clint Capela called up to the Rockets thread badly, cannot wait to see what he can do when fully healthy on the NBA level.
How can you say that? Did you see him at least in action more than one minutes? You are just ridiculous.

Bring this kid back. He took off from the dotted line and dunked on another human being. He blocks out for rebounds and keeps the ball up high on offensive rebounds for put backs. Those two things right there alone prove that he does indeed have some fundamental skills and is able to receive and apply coaching. Those are things that you teach players and he does them. Being able to throw it down from the dotted line and blocking shots like he does are God given talent that not many players out there possess.
I hope he hits the weight room hard over the summer. And works with Deke. He could be a force off the bench. What potential.
I really think this guy will be able to guard all Aldridge, KD, and Dirk. He has decent lateral movement, quick jump, and the length. Basically the bigs that face up to the basket. It would be a good early experiment. Plus the guy shoots free throws.
He is a year away from being an A+ role player/defensive superstar. I think his rebounding ability and RIM protection would be a huge upside for us on that second unit. He will be Anthony Davis status in his 4th year.
When Capella was drafted, everyone thought he would be a long developmental project. I still believe that is true.
