Wolfsburg is far from being a small club. Dortmund has been on a free fall this season. Wonder what is going on with them... Now if this slump goes into the winter break, will Hummels try to force his way out of the club? I would love it if United could get him. We need defensive reinforcements badly. I'd say we're doing fine for the time being, but against the Chelsea's and Man City's, the defence needs some shoring up.
Smaller markets then? You are telling me Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg are among the bigger cities of Germany? I wasn't that bad in Geography. Well I am learning and willing to listen.
No problem. IDK how that works in some part of the world but usually I refer to small market teams as 'smaller teams'. There are definitely cases where the ball club outgrows the region they are playing in. I heard Hoffenheim has 3000 to 4000 citizens and I am assuming the stadium is fully attended most of the time.
You can do this with NBA and other sportts with a salary cap, but not in football. If you have a billionaire owner you can spends as much as you want. City size doesn't matter in that case.
Not so much. Hoffenheim is close to bigger cities like Mannheim and Heidelberg, that's why the stadium is not completely empty, but it's not really filled either. They usually have around 20000 people there. If they're having a cup game during the week that is not against a big draw, you have to be glad if there are 12000 or 13000 people coming, which is less than some teams of 3. Bundesliga have. They're not having real fans, just consumers. Negative side of modern football.
Not long... he should be gone by the end of this season. John Henry can only be so patient for so long. Then we'll hire some Dutch manager and he'll scare the team into winning.
Grrrr, I only got 27 points in our league!! Dropped to 4th, that's what I get for not paying attention to my injured players Anybody paying attention to this?
