Could be way off. This isnt coming from me, but I can tell you from 3 people around the league. They could just be speculating.
Heh. My inner Oliver Stone has been wondering if this "injury" is really an unofficial suspension. Kinda like how some folks thought MJ's first retirement was actually Stern forcing him away for a year and change because of his gambling. I guess we'll know soon enough. If Dwight remains "doubtful" and a "game-time decision" for another month and never suits up, I'll start to believe my own conspiracy theory.
So... NBA don't want to officially suspend a franchise player, it will harm the product. But they can unofficially.
Maybe "they're" gauging public outcry. If its there, NBA will use the situation to make a symbolic statement. If its not, they may be okay the unofficial suspension (totally speculation). I would imagine, though, that if there was a storm brewing the Rockets would be subtly distancing themselves. He wouldn't have traveled with the team to milwuakee, they would be pulling advertising and access..
You sure about that? He ran Donald Sterling out of the league for offensive remarks. You don't think he can suspend(secretly or officially) a player for alleged child abuse(i.e. what we used to call spanking 30 years ago)?
It's the knee and we're talking about November games. Why would he sit out now bc he thinks a future suspension may be coming? That makes no sense.
But the NBA didn't before there was an outcry and they KNEW the type of person Donald Sterling is. Trust, there was a lot of Donald Sterling moments that were swept under the rug. They won't draw attention to something unless they HAVE to.
Didnt say that is why they could be doing it. I am telling you a few people are speculating. I have nothing concrete on this.
this rumor circulated quite a bit initially. Clutch quickly put it to bed and confirmed it was a knee issue. Sounds like you are hearing the residual grumblings that never die until a player plays again.
To be fair, you're speculating on speculation... It doesn't make a lot of sense to me, considering everything we had heard indicated that this woman was just trying to hurt Dwight's chances of full-custody. The claims were investigated in Florida, weren't they? So now she made the claims in a different state and they are reinvestigating? Something like that.... I really hope they're just being overly cautious. 1) I don't want him to be suspended, and 2) I really hope he hasn't done anything serious to his child. I am of the type that doesn't see spanking or even hitting with a belt as child abuse. If you were hit as a child with a belt, why would you assume it was unacceptable? It's ridiculous the way parents use their kids and the system to screw the other parent. It's something I have witnessed over and over in my position with the state. It never gets any less infuriating and depressing. Sadly, in my experience, it's always the women who are about to lose custody that make up the BS. Judges tend to side with the mother as it is.
