Those people actually don't exist. http://freebeacon.com/blog/there-is-no-black-stormtrooper-controversy/ Everyone loves being the victim. It's pathetic.
Yeah, I saw that article on CNN with a headline of "Actor hits racism as black Stormtrooper". Then I read the article and it vaguely mentions, "On YouTube, some questioned whether a black Stormtrooper made sense, while others reacted with racist remarks." So some people who watched the trailer on youtube with uknown race and unknown intent posted some comments that mentions race? Were the comments actually hurtful KKK style dog crap, or parodying it for comedy (like I'm sure SNL will do, as Spaceballs did before it), or just nerdy Star Wars geeks questioning the fictional accuracy?

pretty low when a news org is reaching to youtube comments to create a fake race outrage. I expect this from rocket river however
Cracked.com has weekly articles showing which headlines&news were complete bullish. It's pretty amazing how many of the biggest headlines (made by the biggest newspapers, not little ones or internet blogs) are based on ridiculously poor journalism. See so many threads in the hangout etc that get later debunked, for example 99% of the stories about crazy stuff happening in Asia (eyeball licking, insane parents, etc) are often based on one random blog without any sources, etc.
There is not a single quote anywhere in your article of someone complaining about a 'black stormtrooper'. Not one piece of evidence. They couldn't find one racist redneck nerd's tweet to post. Nothing. I love the idea that the stormtrooper is some holy job title to some racist that a black person being one is an insult. I bet there are tons of people who hold that view.........
Welcome to ClutchFans, I hope you enjoy it here! And ESB is my favorite film of All-Time, it is a classic that still stands the test of time!
The empire... it is an outrage why no equality in this day and age? If they want... be black Stormtrooper that is. - Rocket Riveresque
His Star Trek films were beautiful to look at. I loved the effects, characters and the music. He got very nearly everything right except that he totally *****ed up the Spock character (sorry, didn't/don't buy the Spock-Uhura "romance") - I mean they blew up Vulcan not change Vulcan physiology. The shift of the time line from the original Trek universe was cleverly done. Into The Darkness was even better but that opening sequence with the Enterprise under the ocean was just plain stupid - they do have transporters for a reason. As for the new Star Wars, I have a few misgivings as this is supposed to take place 30 years later yet they are still flying X-wings, tie fighters and the Millenium Falcon??? Also, the storm troopers are supposedly clones of Jango Fett who if I recalled correctly was NOT of African descent. I am really curious about the new cast but the storyline of the Sith re-emerging (yet again) strikes me as somewhat stale. Also, this weekend I saw another supposedly International Teaser trailer that showed and aged Luke Skywalker in Jedi garb. Was this real or a hoax?
I wasn't angry, just baffled as I thought that the Storm Troopers were all clones of Jango Fett who was not black.
Disney has declared that anything but the Prequels and Original Trilogy is non-canon and basically never existed. Which includes our badass Revan.
John Boyega is one of the 2 main stars of the new movie. He is not a Stormtrooper....(pretty positive on that....could be wrong). It is most likely he is disguised as a trooper.
I'm nerding out so hard over this trying to figure out who it is!! That mask in the leaked image is 10000% Revan's, and seeing as how that image nailed the lightsaber, I am inclined to believe it's legit. I know they've said the EU is not canonical, so I guess Revan's out of the question, but it's GOT to at least be a reference to him, no? It's too spot on. It's going to be a long year for the Star Wars junkie in me...
Plinkett's awesome review of the trailer <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/yBEdgPFoBjY?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The Clone Troopers were all derived from Jango Fett. After the Empire came to power and order 66 was carried out the Empire stopped using clones due to the cost (and their accelerated growth cycle led to them all dying in about half of an average lifespan). The Empire now being a dictatorship formed an army of normal humans and incorporated the remaining Clone Troopers into their new Imperial Grand Army until they aged and could no longer serve. So at this point (30 years in the future) There would be few if any actual clones left. Of course all of this is more or less based on the EU, which is deemed non canon at this point, but that's how it is.
