We were killing them until a cheap shot knocked Petty out. Baylor moves into 4 if Ohio State or any other top seed not named TCU loses. Baylor has a shot to win the big 12 again. I'm happy with that.
Yep. Baylor was on a role. But that call ruined a very fun game. It's been a fun year though. Hope TCU can make it into the 4.
I'm not saying it's the end all be all. I'm saying that it should count when the teams are marginally close, which TCU and Baylor are. The results should matter. Just because it didn't "prove" Baylor was better than TCU, it should be a serious factor when determining which 11-1 Big 12 team should go. If Baylor was winning every game in the last minute, while TCU was blowing everybody out, then sure, I'd buy TCU going over them. But the fact is Baylor has blown many teams out, some of which TCU struggled with, while TCU has blown may teams out, some of which Baylor struggled with. They're fairly even overall, and the results in the head to head should be heavily factored in. Just my opinion, though.
I'll say this as a TCU alum...if Baylor beats Kansas State by more than 21 points (TCU won 41-20 vs. KSU) you guys deserve the nod over us. Any margin less than 21 and I think TCU goes. It's not hard to see that the committee is "punishing" Baylor for its weak OOC schedule. I also think a 14 point loss to an unranked team is worse than a three point loss on the road against a top five opponent. At the end of the day hopefully both teams make it. Can you imagine a TCU/BU championship game at Jerry's World??
Why is only KSU the deciding game? OU would also be 9-3, and Baylor beat them on the road by 34, while TCU won at home by 4.
Crazy how these two teams have random games where each has dominated another. They seemed so even when they played each other. Fun times being a fan on the big 12... Having other schools dominating the conference Like TCU putting up 82 on tech and winning by 55..... And Baylor squeaking by with a 2pt win over tech. All the talk about this game and that.... Doesn't matter. Curious how it all pans out. It's been a fun season, especially for an inaugural playoff year.
I'm still rooting for the Buckeye nation let's go Arizona/K-State/Missouri... I sort of want F-State and TCU to stay

Alabama, Florida St, and Oregon are clearly win and they're in. Then it comes down to Ohio St., TCU, and Baylor. IMO There is absolutely no way they send TCU in ahead of Baylor, so TCU is out of the picture and it becomes Ohio St. vs Baylor, and I think Ohio St. goes in ahead of them. All 3 win, Ohio St. goes in Ohio St. loses, Baylor goes in Baylor loses, then TCU goes in. TCU loses, Ohio St. goes in. It's kind of a complicated situaton
It was a bad call for sure...but honestly, not even Gary Patterson thought TCU was going to stop Baylor at all late in that game. He said as much. Had it gone to OT, I doubt seriously the result would have been different.
Let's not forget that Baylor was marching down the field like it did all game in the first half when Linwood fumbled after a terrible missed facemask call. But we won't forget since it keeps getting brought up. TCU couldn't stop us to save their lives while Baylor had 3 -4 stops in a row to come back. Let's not forget that.
It won't be easy for any of the teams but Bama has shown that they can be beat. LSU let them off the hook after Bama got a favorable personal foul. Auburn was up this past weekend.
I agree with you. I think there was a 75% chance you win in OT the way you all were moving the ball in the fourth quarter. I've stated that all along...BUT, we don't know, do we? It sucks for my team that a ridiculous call at a crucial situation may impact a chance for a national championship. Who knew then that it would end up being this big of a deal? I like Baylor and am happy that you all have such a strong team but it does bother me a bit that many here are screaming from the rooftops that "We beat TCU, we are clearly the better team" when the game was decided by the refs at the end. With that said, I won't be upset if you beat K-State and pass us up as you did win the game. All I can really hope for is that Florida State finally gets exposed in the ACC championship and that Ohio State loses to Wisconsin. If these two teams lose, perhaps we both make it in. Will be rooting for whoever represents the Big 12 either way (assuming we both win...I could see us losing to Iowa State as we look past the game!)
Let's not forget we stopped your final drive before the refs gave you a phantom PI on third and long... A call so ridiculous it made the front page of deadspin
If all of TCU, Baylor, and OSU lose, I suspect Wisconsin or K-State go. Both would be conference champs, and both their losses would be against ranked teams.
Let's forget that we were killing them before Petty was taken out by a dirty hit by a player who said that he couldn't wait to play Baylor at the Big 12 media day. Dude was gonna try to take Petty out at the first chance he got and did exactly that.
Blake is right. If Ohio State loses, we need another loss elsewhere and both Baylor and TCU get in. I'll take 3 and play Oregon. LOL
