A very reasonable analysis. Thank you. But if healthy Bev and Canaan are a reasonable duo at the PG. For under $2M this season. There is only so much money to go around, and we all realize that Morey is heavily into cap management. Plus the PG position has much more talent floating around than any other position. If I were the GM I would skimp as much as possible on PG salaries. Morey is going to play the long game. And right now the Rockets are the third seed in the West. Do not expect a trade anytime soon.

Any time someone points out Mcfail's shortcomings you come running in to white knight him. Seriously man, what's your connection to the coaching staff? Are you a friend of the Mcfail family?

Yes DMo has had time on the court but during his time the coaches have instructed him to play as a stretch 4. A blind r****ded squirrel could see that was not the skill set he possess. Yet the coaching staff continued to ask him to do it. Imagine if the coaches asked asik to be a stretch 4... Would you then come onto CF.net and proclaim that asik was given his chance and couldn't produce?

I agree with this comparison. His style of play reminds of a young AS.

McFail?????? You are prepared for some serious push back from me I hope. 13-4 with an elite defense and three starters out. Who do you want for a coach? God almighty?

DMo had a bit of a coming out party this summer league, but even in summer league he wasn't always consistent. I can't blame McHale for not moving an inconsistent player with potential to the top. It doesn't stop other idiots for doing just that.

There use to be a DMo highlights vid on Youtube of when he was 17 years old and he said he was like and I quote "I'm like Arvydas Sabonis but faster".

    I agree.

Rockets would be better if he played like Tyson chandler. Dwight posting up is often cringe worthy.

But last year in the playoffs he did go ham.

I wanted SVG this past offseason.

13-4 reflects the talent Morey has accumulated. Also I think at this point it's pretty clear that Morey basically runs the show from the front office. This is the only concern I have with Morey.

SVG? Don't SVG and Howard have more than a little bad blood between them? And how would that have worked out with Howard, the man who stated that one of the reasons he came to Houston was to be coached by McHale? You really need to consider your oh so important opinions before you publish them.

Morey isn't on the court with the players.

What? I know about SVG's time with Dwight. IMO it was overblown and dwight wanted to get away from the magic org. not SVG.

What I like about SVG is he's an actual coach. He actually coaches his players. He doesn't rely on his assistants to come up with an actual defensive gameplan. According to our insiders that was the weak excuse Mcfail gave to Morey during last years playoff meltdown.

Run away old man and enjoy the last few years you have on earth.

And McHale is not? Mchale has installed an elite level defense. He has installed a potent R&R offense. He has been great at developing young players. And three starters out and 13-4. What more can you ask of a coach?

I heard a very interesting take on DMo's issues last year and early on this year; Understanding that he had limited minutes to impress, DMo ran around trying to set picks for people, find his spot to rotate to be available to shoot a three, then get low post position. He was trying too hard and he looked a mess. Not to mention that no one would throw the ball to him after he would fight to pin his man behind him.

I always felt he had the tools, but he couldn't win being out with the second unit. Everyone on that second unit was also trying to impress in order to show they deserved more burn time. So after DMo would set a pick for them, then fight for position down low, his reward was a jacked up three. That would of course put him out of position for the rebound. I felt badly for him and just hoped we wouldn't trade him so he could become a star w/someone else.

Now with all the injuries, he seems to be at peace knowing he is going to get his minutes and is playing within himself. What this team doesn't seem to understand is that they get their rhythm by throwing the ball inside, have the defense collapse after they see they can't stop whoever we have inside (D12 or DMo), setting up someone for a wide open three. With the occasional backdoor lob/cut to the basket.

We could be one of the few teams that doesn't have to change their offensive style to fit the players. We'd have that wheel inserting various cogs to grind up the opposing teams defense. Gee, isn't there one other team that does that? I think they win with it as well....

What if we lose Dunn before the playoffs? Serious question. Maybe someone notices our elite defense and poaches him. What then?

All Dunn does is scout the upcoming offense and prepare the team with their defensive priorities. Sampson leaving was a freak occurrence. And the damage mitigation is in all probability in place. Morey and McHale are not stupid. Or do you think they are?
