Terrence is .429 on the season....

True, not many games for him, but he started the season on fire on both ends of the court (advanced defensive stats put him just behind Howard defensively, one of our best).

Who is Patrick Patterson and Marcus Morris?

    #14 draft picks.

To be fair, only Morris was traded for pennies. Ppatt on the other hand was part of a trade for the 5th pick of that season's draft.

I think Thomas Robinson was eventually flipped for Papanikolaou.

True, but trading Patterson and Morris and then trading Robinson, allowed to have the cap space needed to sign Dwight. A la Morey, cashing in pennies for a silver dollar.

    He gets nervous during games.

It also sucks that he's no good at anything else on the court. Really, there was no point getting him at all

I love how people keep using this and that to say that, "Well, if we hadn't done that, we wouldn't have got Harden or Howard, or Bosh, or Melo... etc."

Why don't we go all out and say, "Well, if we hadn't drafted Pat Riley in 1967, we wouldn't be able to sign Dwight Howard." It's like saying, "Well, my Gramp screwed my Ganny one night and here I am."

The truth is, each move has its own merit. There are many things that could go right or go wrong in between moves. I give Morey credit for maintaining cap flexibility to give us a chance for landing a star. But what if Howard felt happy in LA and didn't want to come? What if we couldn't go past the 1st round with H&H in the next couple of years and Howard jumps ship again? Would the Patterson and Morris trades still look good?

Except in this case it was literally true that Patterson had to go to clear up cap space to sign Howard. And Morris too I think although I'm not as certain. We could NOT have signed Howard as a free agent without clearing patterson's salary off the books. I liked Patterson too but I'll take Howard, thank you.
