Not in year one but if I got a Herschel Walker type offer or a Ricky Williams like offer then I would in a heart beat.
I voted no... not because I am a fan of him (especially not now), but because you can't trade him for anything near value right now. We need to see what he have in him. And hope he isn't another bust.
Yes, I didn't want him in the first place. I would wait til the season is over though. Let's see if he comes around.
Herschel actually played and Ricky didn't have a bunch of negative issues going against him (work ethic and injuries)... At this point the Texans would be lucky to get a 5th round pick, a pack of Oreos, and a roll of toilet paper for him. The Texans couldn't even trade the pick before he was drafted... Just have to stick with him and hope he lives up to the hype.
Without a doubt. I got soo much flak on another forum website because I was the only one that didn't like his motor and didn't think he really wanted to be a Texan and play football, and of course all of those people hating on me look pretty stupid right now. Granted, it's his rookie season and he has time later in his career to prove me wrong, but honestly all of my pre-draft concerns have been for the most part well warranted.
He's made some explosive plays when he's in the game.. he had a legitimate knee injury that made him miss those games. But the illness thing is concerning. I haven't given up yet.
Bump after the latest "setback." I still maintain that it would not be a bad idea at all to trade him for a first round pick.
The time to deal Clowney was as a top pick on draft day. Whatever the Texans were offered, he'll never bring close to that much again.
You won't get much, just have to Hang on and hope he brings it next year. You're a Texans fan, get used to hoping. Interesting that 2 former Texans who weren't liked, Mario Williams and Connor barwin, lead the league in sacks this year. Or are top 5 atleast. Imagine what holding onto one of them would have done.
I'm just having a hard time warming up to the guy, and rooting for him. I really don't think he is tradeable. He needs to get his sh!+ together. It seems to me that all the rumors surrounding him before the draft are actually true.
OB picked Fitz because of his smarts and scrambling so RGIII could be an option, but is he the type of player he has set in his mind? Even Sanchez has that ability, but would they be too expensive? Mallett is more the style of player I think OB wants, which is why I lean towards Foles even though he will likely be expensive also. Is Foles an on field general and play caller like Mallett appears to be? If not, then Foles might be scratched as well.
