Maybe having a guy like Harden can helps us sign big time free agent lets say Dwight Howard if it fails with Kobe at LA?

Yeah that, and then OKC wastes a lot of Durant's prime with a moronic coach, constantly cheaping out on personnel despite being contenders, and we'll sign him. Sure

 

it's actually crazy to see how far the Rockets have come since the 2012 playoffs and how the Thunder have literally stayed in neutral or even gotten worse.

I don't think it's all on Scott Brooks, I think the ownership has also failed Westbrook and Durant to an extent.
