    Thought this would be a nice article to post after seeing us win 2 in a row, including that gorgeous win vs the mavs! Love him or hate him, KG is notorious for his trash talk (even though he crosses the line with it) and seeing Hakeem up there in his top 3 is something I didn't realize Hakeem did much.

    Quote from the article:"Yeah, man," Garnett replied. "And he played with a mouthpiece."

    And you could still understand him?

    "I definitely could hear it, articulate it, understand it, comprehend it," Garnett said. "Yeah. Hell yeah."

    "He was a nightmare some nights, man," Garnett later added.

    Something tells us David Robinson probably agrees with KG."

    Also a great facebook comment on the bottom of the article saying, "something tells me Hakeem learned to talk trash from teammate Vernon Maxwell."

    And the best trash talker is Kevin Durant from the bench on one leg..but more of a pirate's parrot than a tough pirate himself

    Lol KD being a parrot. For some reason Westbrook probably talks the most trash. When I see KD on the court he's just so skinny that I assume he can't talk trash properly. Like that kid in 7th grade that finally learns what swear words mean and uses them in every sentence.

    Garnett should not be able to judge on this subject since he was scared of Chuck Hayes when Chuck Hayes cursed him in front of everyone by whispering witchcraft into his ear.

    Dream talked a lot of noise earlier in his career, but once he converted to Islam all of that changed just as he did...

    KG never met the earlier one.

    There is nothing wrong with trash talking. It gets your game going and gets the opponent thinking about his.

    However, you should have reached a certain status and earned a trash talk pass before attempting it.

    For example, if Joey Dorsey is playing against Hasheem Thabeet and Dorsey starts taking trash to him, Thabeet will probably have a career night of 5 points and 2 rebounds.

    The only thing trash talking does is motivate your opponent to play as hard as they can. You are basically doing the opposing coach's job for him. Personally I think players should just shut up and play.

    This is hard to believe, I mean I could see it being possible early on in Hakeems career but when KG came into the league Hakeem was a changed man I don't think I ever noticed him talk trash.

    Some people can't handle it and play worse.
    Some people want to defeat their opponent when they are the most motivated.

    Personally I think trash talk is human nature.

    From my experiences playing basketball, when I trash talk, my opponent usually cowers and plays much worse. To the point where they are scared of even handling the ball or of guarding me. I'm not even that good lol

    A trash talker with game to back it up can demoralize an opponent, get into his head, and take him out his game.

    It is even more effective against an opponent with self-confidence issues.
