That one guy's stolen phone conspiracy might run higher up than he suspects. I think I know who has it now.
I don't get how the grand jury doesn't indict. The standard for the prosecution in a grand jury proceeding is comically low. All you have to do is present SOME evidence of a crime. The defense doesn't get to go. And there's no weighing of evidence really, that's what a trial is for. Basically the only way a Gj fails to indict is when the prosecution messes up or doesn't want them to, because the deck is overwhelmingly stacked against defendants.
Because it's open season on black people in this country. They can be gunned down in the streets with no repercussion and the majority could care less. This is a black kid we are talking about so America doesn't give a 5h1t. The police were just doing their job... On the flip side the majority says the police wasn't doing their job when it comes to Winston. He had to rape that white girl. Stay in your house black people. And I suggest you load up.
Just incase we forgot the true image of peace. Pretty telling if you ask me that a grand jury of 9 white and 3 black individuals werent able to indict Wilson...with this "preponderance" of evidence against Wilson perpetrated by the liberal media.
You are part of the problem. Stop pretending like you are a victim. The only victims are the shop owners in Ferguson and officer Wilson.
And never once did you mention the dead kid... And you sir just made my point. America doesn't give a 5h1t.
the dead 'kid' is not a victim. He attacked an officer. Also stop calling him a kid. Its disrespectful. He was 18
When seconds count, you don't have time to "exhaust all options." If you were in the same situation, with some big ass Michael Brown trying to beat your ass, you would be trying to put an end to the situation just like Ofc. Wilson did. I'm not going to let someone knock me out and then take my weapon. I'm going to overcome their use of force, which is what happened here. Outside of the octagon, there is no fair fight. And if you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck. I don't get paid to get in fair fights. I'm going to win the fight so I can make it back home to my family. And that's not me having some bad-ass macho mind set. That's the mindset it takes to go home at the end of the shift. And thankfully, the way the self defense law is written, you don't have to wait until someone pulls a gun on you to meet their use of force with deadly force. Citizens are allowed to overcome the unlawful use of force against an actor. Y'all read this one again. They would probably try to set the fire truck on fire of they tried to put some fires out. So Michael Brown was gunned down in the street? From everything we've heard, you still view it as this? What if the officer had been knocked unconscious and this oxygen thief took his gun and shot him? You probably wouldn't even care since the officer is white... They're right. He is a criminal.
A dead body by itself or any testimony at all is pretty much enough to return an indictment in most cases, which is why they get returned about 99.99% of the time.
All those crazy George Zimmerman wannabees throwing rocks at reporters, smashing news camera, lighting cars on fires, burning more than 12 buildings, looting stores, firing gun shots randomly in the direction of police to where news reporters had to run for cover... Like I said, JuanValdez, you were right. Business owners and citizens had nothing to fear from the mob of peaceful black protesters who were trained in non-violence and self policing! The real fear in Ferguson should be the George Zimmerman clones who are just itching to shoot them some black folks!
I think it's pretty obvious what happened here. The prosecutor looked at the evidence and decided there was nothing there to sustain a trial, but he didn't want to be the one to make that call. He took the evidence to the grand jury knowing there would be no indictment and he can say "Look, I didn't make this call."
For anyone that's curious, here's an excerpt from the Missouri penal code in reference to deadly force: 3. A law enforcement officer in effecting an arrest or in preventing an escape from custody is justified in using deadly force only: (1) When such is authorized under other sections of this chapter; or (2) When he reasonably believes that such use of deadly force is immediately necessary to effect the arrest and also reasonably believes that the person to be arrested: (a) Has committed or attempted to commit a felony; or (b) Is attempting to escape by use of a deadly weapon; or (c) May otherwise endanger life or inflict serious physical injury unless arrested without delay. And there it is in (c); Throwing punches at Officer Wilson would be "serious physical injury". If you don't think so, let me punch you in the face real hard...and you can see how serious it can be. “It’s really pretty straightforward — a police officer can use deadly force when it’s necessary to prevent bodily injury or death,” said David Klinger, a professor of criminology and criminal justice at the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
Follow up to this, I know a lot of people are outraged by this strategy. It's only a bad thing though if you presuppose that Wilson committed a crime and needed to stand trial. If in fact the evidence pointed to his innocence in the eyes of the prosecutor, he has no obligation to WANT to bring a court case against a man he believes to be innocent. The grand jury was his Pontius Pilate moment. He believed the man to be innocent, but he didn't want the rage of the mob directed at him. He put Wilson before the grand jury and asked "What shall I do with this man?" They chose not to crucify him.
Such a sad situation. Bunch of built up racial/social/economic tension that was looking for a reason to explode, even if that reason was 100% justified.
It's really sad that there are stupid people like you out there making this a big deal. The kid robbed a store. The officer DID know about this and KNEW he matched the description. This wasn't known until last night when they started releasing information. The PHYSICAL EVIDENCE matched exactly what the officer described. The kid attacked the officer FIRST. Then proceeded to CHARGE the officer when he told him to stop or he would shoot. Are SERIOUSLY this ignorant? Good friggin' Lord.
My concern with this it's not his job. His job is to be a prosecutor. The system is adversarial in nature, and it has to be. Prosecutor's job is to prosecute his case... Defense attorney's job is to defend. The idea is that the truth gets found in the midst of that. We can argue over whether that's a good system or isn't a good system....but that's how our judicial system is built. When you unilaterally decide not to do your job, it's going to cause people who were already skeptical about the system to be even more skeptical about it. You shouldn't be doing it one way this time and another way all the other times.
