Is there even a shadow of a doubt that the officer will walk away with at most a slap on the wrist ? US police operate with absolute impunity. Remember that nutter of a mayor in Peoria, IL who sent a swat team after a kid because of being mocked on a twitter account ? Pathetic.

What are they about about? Kill whitey? Miss a day of work? Free Turkey's from Michael Brown? Black Friday sales?

I've heard getting shot inflicts damage and pain as well.

why did anyone even believe him in the first place, did someone actually think Brown's best friend would not lie about the situation to make Mike Brown look better.. but to give him credit, at least he is way more coherent than this "star" witness

The jury already know what they decided they're just waiting for the right time to announce it.

They should announce it during a blizzard. That way cooler heads will prevail.

I find it really odd that CNN and MSNBC want to look to an impoverished, crime ridden, and disorganized community like Ferguson for advice on our legal system and police relations. The people of Ferguson can't put together a civilized community, but we should listen to their moral lectures? We should somehow grant them airtime for their righteous indignation speeches?

As educated people, we can't confuse our sympathy for these people for the need to listen to their advice. They need the advice, quite frankly.

Did you hear about the protest at the daycare of all places? Cops were called in after a 3 year old was resisting a rest.

I don't want to start a new thread about another police shooting, was surprised I didn't see one about the Cleveland kid killed after pointing a toy gun at people and reaching for it when the police told him to put his hands up.

I think this falls on the parents. A kid cannot buy this without an adult, so the parents are responsible for insuring that it is used appropriately. Someone took the orange tip off the end which is basically the only way you can tell the difference between it and a real gun from a distance.

The officers supposedly arrived on scene and told him to put his hands up, he reached into his waistband and they shot him. He was 12, but the officer claims he couldn't tell he was that young from their position. I saw a CNN article that said neighbors are upset that the cops didn't use non lethal force....I wonder if these people expect officers to put their life at any more risk when dealing with potential gun wielders.

It's tragic, but at this point, I have a hard time faulting the cops. It's all on video, I think, so I'm sure more detail will come out soon.

What do y'all think? Another issue of extreme force? Or just a tragedy?

    Cops are Cowards and impatient
They have no time to deescalate situations because those donuts won't eat themselves
    and
They shot first and never question only try to frame the situation to their benefit

Then the 'legal' process will do everything in their power to cover up or justify the action

modern American police have more in common with the SS asking for your papers
than people meant to protect and serve these communities

world order, Time is getting shorter
if we don't get prepared People it's gone be a slaughter
My mind won't allow me to not be curious
My folk don't understand so they don't take it serious
But every now and then, I wonder
If the gate was put up to keep crime out or to keep our ass in"

    Dear God.

Only self victimized buffoons could possibly relate local PDs to the Nazi SS.

Ya sorry I don't agree with your generalization of police. Are there problem officers? Yes. Have the police in general gone away from a policy of engaging with the community? I would agree, and that needs to be turned around. But I think it is ridiculous to compare the police in general to the SS. Kind of offensive to equate them honestly.

Also, I don't think the police necessarily acted improperly in either case. There still is discrepancies in the accounts. Numerous witnesses (black witnesses) have corroborated the officer's account. So I don't think anyone can say with any certainty that Mike Brown or Officer Wilson acted improperly.

As for this 12 year old...again, what is it you expect police to do when someone is wielding a gun? They don't see the future, they certainly can't read minds. Remember, these police, while there to protect us, have families too. Do you honestly expect them to assume you won't shoot them every time someone pulls out a weapon, just because you ask them repeatedly to drop it?

I don't think the issue is the police, I think the issue is (for the 12 year old case) bad parents buying toys that look too realistic. Perhaps they didn't anticipate a situation like this, but that's not the cop's fault.

Also, the whole donut thing has gotten ridiculous. How can anyone take you seriously when you throw out such generalizations based off of Hollywood-movie stereotypes?

Then you say they "shoot first" and try to "frame the situation?" Again, what proof do you have of this ridiculous accusation? There are crooked cops, no doubt, but I disagree with your perception that the entire system is crooked and that the legal system isn't working.
