Mchale actually drew up some plays that got the Rockets immediate shots at the rim and buckets down the stretch... I really hate that they still think that hoisting the 3 is the plan when outmatched. I think a steady dose of DMO on th block would have secured a 10+ victory.
"Ahem. Scoff if you like. But this was an aesthetically horrifying win by McHairMouse. How far superior that beautifully coached loss by Carlisle! Philistines."
those ending plays were awesome...but i do not understand the fascination with garcia canaan and daniels could def be more productive..especially if bev goes out
This...Black has hurt this Rockets team on the offensive end tremendously. He cant finish and is too short to bother his opponent's shot. Terrible P/R defender(always out of place)..but he can really rebound the basketball.
Maybe you haven't heard. The Rockets are all about defense this year. Have to play defense to win in the playoffs. McHale thinks Garcia plays better defense than the young guys. He's sending a message that if you want to play, you need to play defense.
I have been critical of mgmt in the past year but not coaching. My position on coaching has been fairly consistent over the past 15 or so years. Morey chose McHale, so there's no reason to be critical of McHale if you have a problem with that, only Morey.
Mchale is a top 5 Coach, Yall just cant see the small things he does to help this team. More like top 20, but who's keeping track?
What a difference a couple of days prep makes! No coach or team can recover from a last minute Howard scratch. Give McHale a couple of days of prep and the defense looks ... well ... better than adequate.
“I told our guys, ‘If you get it, attack,’ ” Rockets coach Kevin McHale said. “If you call a timeout, he (Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle) puts in a defensive lineup. I wanted to try to attack a little bit without doing that.” http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterocke...ts-play-host-to-parsons-mavericks/#27967101=0 Did somebody out coach somebody else?
Canaan made two turnovers in less than three minutes. One more turnover and we could have lost the game. Looks like Garcia and that other old vet did do a bit of defending:
The fact that cannon is out of the rotation when Bev is healthy is enough to bump this thread. Mcfail wake up you fool!
P good move by McHale. I've always thought teams should attack rather than call a timeout and draw up a play.
