Of course not. Morey had to jack up the price in order to scare off the Knicks. Same situation as Parsons, it's over real value but morey just deemed it as necessary to sell seats before we landed Harden. But as a 12/5 pg I can see him getting 3-5m annually from some team.

The increased efficiency seems to be a byproduct of lower usage, surprising considering he's one of the better offensive players on that team. But then not surprising considering he's playing next to Kobe.

Harden and Howard with high praise for Lin. Did no one mention this on CF?

On a side note, classy move by the Rockets to show a Jeremy Lin highlight honor video at Toyota Center. Did anyone record this? Clutch?

Honestly, I think he does need to jack up more shots. It's almost like he feels like he can't just bring the ball up, and then take a shot with first passing the ball. With the Lakers, of course he is not getting the ball back. If you look at what Nick Young is doing...if he brings the ball up, he just takes the shot and he's making a good percentage. Lin's shooting percentage is good enough that he should take the shot if he's got space. He's actually improved his 3pt % every year the last couple years. Wasn't he around 36% for us last year? He needs to average at least 15-16 pts for the Lakers on his current percentages, because they really need the offense.

Needs to stop feeding Boozer and just jack up more shots. I don't know why Scott doesn't run more plays for him as he's one of the most efficient guys on the time.

15pts, 5 assists with good efficiency is nothing to laugh at.

He just needs to calm down and pay smarter.

Again take those statistics with a grain of salt, he is playing with Kobe and he can thank him for chucking a bazillion shots a game. If Kobe was injured or something I hardly think Lin would be that efficient. But what do I know?

That's true. His defense is another issue though.

no way he can be a $13M player. But I do think he would get average starting PG salary from a lot of teams (assuming he can keep his efficiency close to current high).

There are two different roles. One is being the first or second option on a contending team, in that case, he shall jack up more shots. But if he wants to be a solid and serviceable starting pointing guard, he shall go for efficiency.

Linsanity is over, his weak handle, sometimes lack of discipline, and below average defense would not allow him to be a true great player. He shall go for efficiency instead.

By the way, he had improved quite a bit from two years ago. I only watched his last five games. But from what I saw, his left hand is almost as good as his right hand. He is starting to be a good one-on-one player (he was a good PnR player but horrible One-on-One before). His handles is much much better than two years ago. His outside shooting (both 3 point and mid range) had becoming a strength (rather than weakness). His defense had become much stronger than before and he is able to put more on-ball pressure than before.

One of these years, he might just put it all together. But even if he doesn't, he will still be a slightly below-average starting caliber PG (assuming he can keep the efficiency high).

    lol this.

We went through this discussion at the beginning of last year too.

He had a great start and was very nearly 50/40/90 through 10-15 or so games if I remember correctly and we know he didn't finish that way.

It's an impressive start, but history tells us those numbers will almost certainly be coming down.

I don't think Lin likes playing with Kobe because hes feeling like hes being limited when Kobe's on the court.

It seems that Lin is trying to be a D'Antoni guy in a Kobe world.

Mike D'Antoni is all about "ball finding energy" and the ideal D'Antoni PG, Steve Nash, is all about sharing the ball and making sure that teammates get their touches even though Nash is a more than capable scorer. Even when Lin was scoring a bunch of points in NY he was still flinging passes to guys like Tyson Chandler, Steve Novak and Landry Fields (which helped the latter two guys get paid).

This is kind of a weird fit on a team with Kobe. If you try to be unselfish, the ball doesn't really find energy-- Kobe just end up taking all the shots. Even Nash, while healthy, had a hard time adjusting to playing for the Lakers.

I understood this. I was making a statement before fans got carried away with this possibility. I don't doubt there are Lin fans who believe he could be a top 7 player.

Pretty much a strawman argument here. Only the most extreme delusional Lin fans would actually believe he will become a top 7 player, so your argument is a strawman based on a hyperbole of what most Lin fans believe.

There's a huge gulf between being a elite NBA superstar and 'not belonging in the NBA'. 97% of NBA players fall somewhere in between.

What's equally delusional is the Lin haters who keep spamming this board that he isn't a legit NBA player. He has more than proved he is a fringe NBA starting PG, solid rotation player, and legit NBA player.

    Very classy!

It's his TO's that hurt the most, mostly from bad passes. Sometimes I feel like he should just stop trying to pass entirely, be selfish and focus on scoring.

He is efficient because he picks good shots for the most part.
Boozer is a big source of assists for Lin.

If you are just saying he should be a bit more aggressive then I agree. He needs to be able to read defenses a bit better. They often anticipate his hard drives. He should shoot more off the screen.
