They looked better in the 2nd half but still lost. That Hawks team is pretty mediocre right now with Al Horford not looking right. The Lakers looked better than in prior games but still not that good, especially on D. They just got really hot shooting in the first half and did enough to hold on in the 2nd half. Better than just looking incompetent and not even trying, though.
Cuban on Lakers, "I hope they suck forever." I hate Dallas, but I in no way hate Mark Cuban, there should be more of hims in the world.
Cuban is a good owner, he turned a crap Dallas organization to a team that's as power in the West for many years. Sure I don't like the crap he says about Houston, but he's a better owner than Les. Les didn't do anything, he inherited a team built by Steve Paterson that won a championship his first 2 years. What did he do after that? Screwed up our classic and beautiful jerseys. Morey is doing all the work here. So screw Cuban, but he's a good owner.
Cuban's an ******* but if he owned my team I'd love him for being an ******* Gives his team a ring, goes on First Take and trashes Skip, posts corny videos all over YouTube, what's not to like
This Lakers team basically only has a chance against teams that play crappy D because it evens things out. But it bugs me when Byron Scott says in the post-game that they finally gave good defensive effort, and the other team still scored 109, I don't know what game he was watching. Only good thing for the Lakers is after Dallas, they finally face off against a barrage of scrub teams - Nuggets, Boston, Sixers, T-Wolves, etc
I may be wrong here. But from posts I have read it seemed Cuban broke up a championship team to try and save a few bucks, which turned into a massive fail. As far as Les, I like that he sits back and lets Morey do the work. Morey does a good job. The only thing I have heard about Les is that he pushed for Lin over Dragic, but I don't know how factual that was. Got any other example of Les not doing a good job?
That is about one of the only things I might agree with you..... Les is keeping the Rox as his hobby nothing more and nothing less
WTF do you want him to do? Make roster decisions? I think he is a good owner for letting Morey do his thing. You guys will always find somehting to b**** about.
Effort and results are not the same thing. You try hard at something and still suck at it. Like how Lin gave the effort to try to defend Teague but he got craved up like a turkey on Thanksgiving anyway.
Yes he did break up the team. It's not clear whether he was trying to save money or mistakenly thought that team had no future. He also got rid of Nash in his prime and thereby probably delayed contending for several years. It was not the only time he made wrong personnel decisions. One can argue that the best decision Les ever made for the Rockets was hiring Morey. Anyway, I agree with those who say that if Cuban was the Rockets owner, a lot of fans here would love him.
Which is why it bugs me when he praises effort that gives up 109 points. Lakers have no lockdown perimeter defender but what really kills them is their rim defense. Davis is the team's best rim defender and should really be in the starting lineup instead of playing 15-20 mins off the bench.
Scott is not trying to objectively assess the Lakers, he is trying to get his players to perform to the best of their abilities. The Lakers might not have been very successful on D and were still making coverage mistakes, but they did try harder than in prior games and Byron had to recognize that rather than continuing to talk about how ****ty they are. Doing the latter will only subject Byron to the risk of "losing the locker room," and that's one thing that a coach cannot do. Byron looked pretty damn close to losing his guys in the GSW game. Guys just didn't look like they wanted to play for this team at all.
you're not looking at the big picture dude. Cuban took rebuilding the Mavericks organization as a business, started with making things better for his employees. http://www.dmagazine.com/publications/d-ceo/2011/december/ceo-of-the-year-mark-cuban
omg wow I was away for business and billed tonight game as a blowout victory for the good guys. Turned on bspn and saw us losing to this fakers team Time to blow it up guys. How can we win a championship when we lose to these sorry ass fakers with kobe almost disabled.... We also have a worse bench than last years imo.
