Wowwww! That's a lot to give up, Progs. I can't decide who I'd want more of the 3 from Atlanta if we really are only getting 2. Payne is the perfect PF next to Dwight (he's an incredible shooter who also boards and plays D), Korver is an otherworldly shooter, and Teague would be needed to replace Beverly.

Not even sure if this is a possibility or reasonable, but...

If we got Teague and Korver, that's a great deal. If we got Teague and Payne? No thanks.

Teague would give us that second ball handler we need and Payne is intriguing bit Korver would add to our depth we also need.

I loved Payne in college. My only issue with him is his ability to stay healthy.

The thing is, we don't know what "cap smoothing" will look like. Any "smoothing" plan will likely require the OK of the players union and who knows how that will go. Until we know for sure, I don't see Morey even risking blowing cap room based on a guess.

HOU may not want to pay Pat, but even if that is true, just having Pat for the rest of the season and letting him go if need be may still be the wider option. As some of us pointed out, there are plenty of speedy PGs on cheap contracts who can put up, and has put up, numbers similar to Teague's when given sufficient minutes and touches-- Aaron Brooks, Darren Collison, DJ Augustin, Ramon a Sessions...

So why pay $8M and, as suggested by the rumor, give up a 1st round pick, for Teague when you can get a guy who can do, say, 90% or more of what Teague does at anywhere between the minimum and MLE?

    That would be sweet.

    Teague, Canaan
    Harden, Daniels
    Ariza, Korver
    Papaniko, Motie
    Howard, Black

    Get R dun.

Then we could flip Motie, Pelicans pick + fillers for a starting PF.

With that team I'd move the TPE to get Brandon Bass

    Teague/Canaan
    Harden/Terry
    Ariza/Korver
    Bass/Papa
    Howard/Insert Walking Corpse

Interesting timing in that the Hawks just sent Payne to D-League to play in this weekend's games (two). Maybe giving the Rockets a look at him?

if your getting korver in the deal then i pull the trigger...Korver has turned into a legit 3&D player. His gay elf defense is gone and the guy now plays good team defense.

Sorry. I meant I'd USE the TPE to get Brandon Bass. Don't want people to kill me like they did with Feigen

Is jeff Teague really the best of we can find?. He's pretty good. But are the Suns playing hardball with a player that's leaving this summer. If we trade for Teague they lose one less trading partner. I don't understand their thinking right now.

I think your just undervaluing Teague, to say he's on the same level as Brooks, Sessions, Augustin is a bit off. Collison maybe, but Collison is getting payed 5 million a year and is a defensive liability. Teague is on a value contract, I view him in the same light as Ariza when it comes to production and contract, he's a solid starter who's a little bit underpaid.

Supply and demand. How many teams out there really need a starting point guard? Now narrow that down to how many teams out there are playoff contenders? They don't have to trade Dragic if they don't want to because if they let him walk, they still have Bledsoe and Thomas.
