If you can't carry your weight to the station. Then you shouldn't lift it.

The OP's lifting acquaintance sounds like a D-Bag.

I would have ignored the guy. What an idiot.

That's a pretty ignorant point of view. It's pretty clear you don't lift weights.

    LOL! stop trolling.

I would be surprised if you could lift half of what I can(OOOHHH IM A BIG TOUGH GUY).

But seriously, unfortunately I spend way to much time in the gym, and I laugh at the little nit wits who can't carry there d-bells to their area.

If you can't carry it, you can't lift it "correctly".

    Come on DAWG!

Back to the OP's initial post. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a pretty respectful gym where people don't really talk. You take what's open.

"Can I get you to use the bench down there?" isn't rude at all. It may not be polite, but it's not remotely close to being rude.

You're not at a country club. You're at a gym. You should set your standards accordingly.

No one wants to be pestered by the guy who is smelly, sweaty, with pimple laced shoulders and has no regard for people's space.

It is a gym Wekko. It's meant to lift weights, not to ask stupid questions to random strangers in the middle of a workout.

Sorry, but I'm not trolling at all. I'm being 100% serious. "If you can't carry it, you can't lift it 'correctly'" is an extremely ignorant statement.

You may be able to bench 110 lb dumbbells easily, but are your forearms/grip strong enough that you can carry the dumbbells 15 feet without getting tired?

If you have poor etiquette, you're going to get pestered.

It sounds like OP was using the bench in front of the heavy dumbbells but using lighter dumbbells. It's inevitable he's going to get pestered by people wanting to use that bench for heavy dumbbells.

15 feet and get tired? If you were cycling Tren, then maybe(sarcasm).

    Stop reaching.

    You aren't being serious.

No, the OP's acquaintance was a DBag for being socially awkward.

    The OP did nothing wrong.

Who are you to ask anyone to move? As a man, even if I am in the wrong, I would have heard out the question and kept doing what I was doing.

If someone picked up 120's, they are going to have a decent amount of strength. They are going to be able to "Carry it". I would have laughed that guy out of the gym.

Wekko, do you workout at LA Fitness?..........

Unfortunately, I have been pulled in to this because of one guy.

Your forearms aren't tired after carrying a pair of 110 lb dumbbells 15 feet? And since you don't have a spotter, you have to go slow enough that you can guide them onto your knees.

It sounds like you probably can lift twice as much as me...

I already stated I was near lighter weights.. The bench down the way was closer to heavier weights.. Your statement does not make sense.

So you did. Sorry, it was at the bottom of the page so I missed it.

In that case, I have no argument. There was no legitimate reason for him to ask you to move.
