 @ mchale needing dwight AND t jones to beat the lowly lakers dude can't win unless he has an outrageously more talent team than the opposition to make up for his crappy coaching.
Guys, we've known McHale is a terrible coach since the playoffs last season.. he isn't going anywhere until the end of the year though.
Canaan and Daniels could've killed it tonight against a crappy defense. Doesn't matter how much talent your team has if your coach isn't willing to fire all the bullets.
You have absolutely no understanding what a head coach does. They go to meetings. They deal with personnel issues. Meet with the press. They meet with the GM and the owner. And they delegate responsibility to their assistant coaches. Because with all of their other responsibilities they have less than 20 hours a week to devote to coaching. McHale has 5 assistant coaches. Four of which are appointed by Morey. And yes, if healthy, the Rockets will be more than competitive.
You're probably right. It's just frustrating to waste another season like this. There are major deficiencies in the roster, but there's also a lot of talent there that a better coach could get more out of.
Post game... Rick Carlisle is a very good coach... do you think other teams look at Houston and say McHale is a good coach?
What? You could say the exact same thing about the Spurs motion offense. (Do you even understand the R&R and motion offenses?) NBA defenses will shut down your first option 80% of the time. Then what do you do?
I'm still ****ing pissed at Tarik Black being in the game the last 3 mins. Hell if McHale didn't trust D-Mo he should have went full r****d small ball. Anything would have been better than Black.
^^^^THIS after what canaan showed in philly and againist the heat, i figured hes in the rotation for the rest of the season, canaan played well in mexico too. To just all of a sudden be taken out of the rotation when he has been hitting big shots in the 4th quarter for us this year is puzzling
