Kevin McHale is exactly right to say he doesn't want to call plays b/c it slows the offense down. Its just this simple...Les needs to fire Mchale...And Morey needs to be put on notice...this BS is unacceptable. Losing to this Laker team in a competitive Western conference...smdh
We'd win games like this against the Lakers if we had Howard in the lineup. It would probably be a comfortable win if T-Jones was in there alongside him. But imagine what'll happen when we have to face the likes of the Mavs, Clippers, and Grizzlies(well, we already know what happened there). Not to mention the Spurs when they actually play their guys. I'm sorry, but coaching is still a major problem. We were fooled the first 6 games because the Rockets were blowing out inferior opponents, so there was no need to in-game adjustments or late game execution. Now that we're in tight contests, we see how bad McHale is.
i actually feel sorry for the rockets fans that have optimism that mchale will coach this team to the promised land. it's like little kids who stay up at night waiting for santa claus. you want to tell them santa is not real but you don't want to break their precious hearts.
this organization needs to be careful they don't start losing their fanbase. too many F'ing seasons of this crap now. just because there's only one newspaper in town, they probably feel they have a handle on criticism of these neverending chronic collapses season after season. they've managed to rub out instances like back in the day when writers put pressure on the team with headlines such as "choke city". but getting people to actually pay to watch this crap in person season after season is not going to last.
Get ready for losing the next 4 out of 5. Seriously how could we not add some assistant coaches to help out mchale?
It's pretty hard to believe that the people above Mchale...Morey and Les...think a team is going anywhere running no offense. Slow the offense down...that's a bad thing? Have they seen the Spurs play?
Les is not going to fire McHale. Sorry. Dream on. This is Morey's offense. This is Morey's game plan. Morey demands a coach that will implement his vision 100%, and McHale does that perfectly. Christ the Cavs lost rested at home to Denver. One game does not make a season.
No, they both share the blame in this one. The Rockets should've won this game even with Howard and Jones out. McHale was the one who decided to play Cisco instead of Canaan(for the 2nd time in 3 games, I might add). He was the one who failed to draw up a play at the end which left the ball in Black's hands with the Rockets down 2. He apparently didn't bother to instruct his guys that you don't need to foul Nick Young in the backcourt when there's only 3 seconds left for the Lakers to get across the halfcourt line.
You really do not understand basketball do you? The Rockets have offense. It is called the R&R. One step above the motion offense the Spurs run most of the time. But no front line past Howard and D-Mo now that Jones is out. Howard cannot play? The Rockets are ******.
And the Cavs are pinning their hopes on a rookie coach who's totally untested in the NBA. I don't think that's wise either. As for the Rockets, Les isn't going to fire McHale now, but he needs to pull his head out of his ass and understand that the problems plaguing this team in terms of execution(or lack thereof) are not a temporary setback. It's been an issue under McHale the entire time he's coached this team. Does anyone seriously think this team even with a few additions to the roster via trades will contend this year with McHale on the sidelines? They're at best a 2nd round team and even that's a longshot.
