All hashtags aside... Losing Asik hurt but that pick is going to be #19 or better and allowed us to make a run at a Big3. That's a nice haul. The talk at the deadline was Courtney Lee and Bass.. yuck. Let's not forget that our Turkish friend is making 15 million this year and is about to get paid all over again. I loved Omer but that is a pill, pun intended, for any owner no matter how much skrilla you much you bankin' and absolutely effected his value. YOU play to win the game and winning the game does not mean adding "nice complimentary pieces" at the cost of actually winning a championship. Take the short term suffering. Don't sign Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings. Don't sign Monta and Calderon. Don't sign CHAN. Patience and persistence yielded us D12 and Harden.. let's see what it yields as far as our 3rd player. #PlowWithMorey
that's a solid return, you guys have to not be so brainwashed for a 3rd star. You got to have depth in the west. & rumor was it was a 1st included that anige and morey couldn't agree on because Celtics have many. I promise you with this lineup we would've made it past Portland last year, hell DMO "our backup PF" rode the pine whole series. Bass would've held his own "15 mins a night, he has playoff exp. & lee would've helped on D, he would've got at Matthews and lillard, would not have layed down. bev/lin harden/lee parsons jones/bass howard/center filler
Wow, I have to admit that in hindsight I am questioning my own opposition to the Asik to BOS for Bass and Lee (versus the NOP #1). Both would have been solid contributors this season and made a good defensive team noticeably better. And Lee would contribute offensively. I think we now need to hope that NOP pick does result in a significant player coming back to us...
Not that I think there's no chance the keep the pick, but honestly Morey has very little to do right now. Teams aren't going to change their direction 10 games into the season. And trade possibilities are difficult before Dec. 15th. If anything, Morey can very well be going there to network more than personally watch the prospects for drafting. I wouldn't read anything into this trip.
I'm sorry I didn't respond to your message. Things have been crazy with the rest of life...but in a good way! I don't want to give a timetable....more fodder...That was a mistake I made before ..twice. But, coming in is a guy we've talked about for a looong time....if all goes according to Hoyle.
It's all good, understand life gets busy I'm happy it's in a good way! hopefully the player is goran and not rango. I hope to hear from you soon my friend.
I was halfway being sarcastic about how people automatically thing every single asset the Rockets own is due for a trade tomorrow. I find it hilarious that people don't think there is a chance in hell that a draft pick is going to be used for the actual draft. Yes... its a great trade asset, but you need a trade first to make that happen, and the past two years since the latest CBA ripples have been in full affect, Morey has elected to add players via free agency over trade, so there is still a huge chance that Morey actually uses the draft pick.... well.... for the draft. reg him being at the Duke game & scouting: If the Rockets missed the playoffs (Heaven forbid) they could have as much as FIVE draft picks this year. Just like any year, Morey needs to know everything he can about every player available in the draft from top to bottom, and then some that miss the draft for D-League purposes. Also there is the small chance of trading up in the draft for an even better lottery pick. Maybe the Rockets miss the playoffs, have 2 lottery picks, and go two for one to get in the top 5... who knows. The point is, the Rockets need to be ready for anything on draft night. They don't know what kind of trades are or aren't going down between now and July, and they can't get stuck holding the bag on multiple draft picks and pick the wrong player because they didn't do their due diligence in November - May to know which player to take that would hold value.
WoW -Progs is actually right on. If Morey doesn't use the trade exception and can't get a big time player Gallo is someone that Morey has looked into. (if he sees he can stay healthy) As a one year RENTAL. Plugging him into that PF spot. (R Anderson is not available)
