To be honest, it isn't that difficult to realise. You run the side 2 man game with Howard and Harden. You have Ariza in the opposite corner, Bev at the top and the PF at the free throw line extended. There are literally 100 variations of the dominant Howard/Harden P'n'R from that format - all of which will be effective. WHY can the coaching staff not see this? I'm wondering whether there was another wrinkle to the handshake agreement of Howard coming to Houston. And that is he gets to have as many post touches as he wants. Because surely he realises he's unstoppable in the P'n'R - there has to be some reason why he's so against it.
The problem is we play 80+ game with the same plan For 2 seasons ..hardly any adjustment Harden not always the best option to handle the ball Dwight's not always going to dominate inside
Memphis had a hard off ball double on him, and he was still trying to get the ball, when he should be pulling them out and see if they follow.
Dwight has the worst use of his body weight for a big man of his supposed caliber He needs to do drills with automated 7ft 300lb dummies that force him to learn angles he can use to gain leverage
Sadly, it was probably part of the Dwight signing. I don't think we can escape feeding him a few post-ups every game. However, we could still include more wrinkles. Setting off-ball screens to get mismatches for him, things like that. Just tossing the ball in to him every possession is cratering this offense.
100%. Hopefully they find out this is the reason. Dwight was just getting blocked and knocked out the post during the game versus OKC and Grizz. Seriously need to see how to get the ball to Dwight without it slowing down the pace.
No Dwight playing today. Let's see if his absence hurts or benefits our offense. Probably hurts in this game since no one can stop him on LAL
Black/Motie is a huge drop off on offense though, not sure how much of a look that gives you at a theoretical offense where we run lots of pick & rolls.
