I still don't understand why people think Parsons will become a star or improve dramatically. Any improvements he has is going to be marginal at this point, short of a quantum leap in the ability to recognize and capitalize on match-ups. This is simply due to the fact that there is a ceiling to his athleticism. Being a jack of all trades, master of none can only take one so far.

Morey has always said you know a player after their first three years. If they don't make a jump in that time they won't make one. Chandler improved from a rookie and then leveled out.

    Over the last 4 games...

    Parsons: 15.5 PPG, 6 RPG, 4.25 APG, .25 Turnovers, .43 FG%, .41 3P%, 31 MPG.

    Ariza: 14.75 PPG, 5.25 RPG, 2 APG, 1.75 Turnovers, .40 FG%, .25 3P%, 36 MPG.

Can we stop jumping to conclusions now and focusing on stats like they're the end-all-be-all of everything? Let's look at how each team is doing at the end of the season instead.

I agree, despite Ariza's shooting, I know without a doubt when it's all said and done, Parsons is the better playmaker and 3-point shooter. It's a in your guy type of feeling that's honest to yourself.

The Rockets replaced Parsons with Ariza and now have the top ranked defensive efficiency (though with an easy schedule). The Mavs have the top ranked offensive efficiency after replacing Marion with Parsons.

On the other side though, the Rockets took a hit offensively and Dallas' defensive numbers were very poor until recently.

Looks like a swap that significantly altered both teams. I'll wait for the playoffs to see which team benefited the most.

Factor in defense and these cherry-picked stats don't mean much.

Wow, you're right. What was I thinking cherry-picking obscure stats like PPG, RPG, APG, shooting percentages, and turnovers? What a horrible representation!

Ariza is better on defense and Parson is better on offense atleast based on DefRtg and OffRtg

Not a surprise. Rockets needed more defense than offense, thus the move makes sense for Houston.

Rockets need to hit their threes and their offense will fix itself. I still think the answer includes playing Canaan and Daniels.

Harden's offensive struggles will continue if he doesn't have another perimeter player step up and help him out iwth the playmaking.

That's where the team misses a player like Parsons.

Harden is shooting 37%, and the end of the tunnel isn't near.

Harden is basically trying to carry Rockets by himself, which creates this terrible situation, if hes shots arent falling we suck. Imo he should focus a bit more on making his teammates better, he can clearly create for his teammates. Easy layups, open shots, passes which leads to assist's and so on. If harden continues to play iso-ball, instead of playing for the team, we wont achieve anything in this season playoff either.

There's nothing to debate. Parsons is a better playmaker and overall offinsive player. Ariza is a better 3pt shooter and defender, and an overall better fit for this team.

I agree he is a better playmaker but better 3pt shooter? Debatable. But i disagree with you. You know what's not debatable? Ariza is miles ahead on defense.
