I think this qualifies as stage 3.

Almost certainly is; but they have an opportunity to hang a L on three of the teams ahead of them; that's a giant opportunity.

My guess... we'll look back at that three-minute stretch against Pittsburgh as the turning point. 6-4 with wins over Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Cleveland is, like, light years ahead of a still-not-unfavorable 5-5.

Seems like this thread is too early. Just on the cusp. After next week would have been the "still too early" time to start the thread.

After next week we'll have a better feel for the Texans and Bengals, obviously, and Dolphins and Broncos (play each other), Chargers (play Rams, should be a win, but could point to which way Chargers end up going this season)...

But great recap for as early as it is and as many permutations there still are.

You're right. Indy would have to lose either their home game vs. Jax or their away game vs Tenn and Houston would have to win their home game vs Tenn and both their games vs Jax.

Eh, I disagree there. It's a big IF, but should the Texans beat Cincy, they're basically staring 8-5 in the face (Titans, Jags next two weeks). A win against the Bengals very much puts them in the discussion.

I put our chances at making the Playoffs at 10%. A lot has to happen, and Texans have to play better over the next 6 games than they have ever played in like 2 years. That is a lot to ask for.

I mean, there's a (teeny-tiny) chance 7 teams are 6-5 this time next week with only NE, KC and Denver having better records.

I think the Colts loss was the worst. It was winnable and would have given them a lead in the division race.

we are also assuming the Colts will win out or go 5-1 …they are banged up and just lost Bradshaw…Texans just need to focus on taking care of business and let the rest of the NFL games unfold. I think the Colts are due for a few meltdowns.

I'd be thrilled with the playoffs...

but honestly, at this point, I'm just excited to see progress. Amazing the difference a young QB who MIGHT be the answer can make.

This might be the case now.

Luck is a great player, but he is no Manning or Brady right now.

Bradshaw was a big time safety valve. Losing him will hurt.

All the games lefton out schedule are winnable. Run the table, please.

It might be better. If we run the table we want the Steelers to win the division. We lost to them but will beat the Bengals, Browns, and Ravens.

I agree with the above post. Texans would have a better shot at the second WC with the Steelers winning that division.

Otherwise, you likely have two playoff teams coming rom the AFC North (along with two from the AFC West), and the only way to make the playoffs is by beating Indy for the division (which is almost impossible unless they totally implode).
