Relax, Denver just beat the Cavs tonight. You think the Cavs should just forfeit the season? No, they are going through growing pains just like we are, our roster changed quite a bit from last year. We are bringing a new defensive philosophy in, it will take time for Harden to adjust to it. I seem to remember us getting crushed by the Pacers early in the season last year, I seem to recall Harden being in a funk at that time too. I seem to recall fans claiming Paul George to be better than Harden, and how it was a statement game and how we would suck the rest of the year. We played the rematch game against the Pacers in March, completely destroyed them. Harden made George look like a scrub. This is the NBA, **** happens. No reason to panic about any of this.
Doesn't matter because 1) Cavs play in the East. A 0.500 record would get them in the playoffs. 2) LeBron playoff mode is Godly and has a proven record of success. Irving has been statistically one of, if not the clutchest, player in close games.
And the Bulls were without Rose. LOL. This is the NBA and **** happens. No GM, coach or player is perfect. To expect perfection from a team is the sign of a true troll.
I'm all for replacing McHale, but it's not going to happen this season. My only hope is that the coaching staff around him makes up for his deficiencies. I thought this was happening early in the season, but after the random benching of Canaan I'm worried that McHale still makes too many decisions.
Given that I give rep about once a month, and generally to noobies with excellent thread starts, it was not me. This is Morey's offense. Like it or not. McHale was not experienced enough to make such a ground breaking change in an offensive system. I fully expect McHale to be extended after this season, and if he does not wish the position, to be replaced by a coach who will carry out Morey's offensive system. Learn to live with it because this offense will be around for a long while.
Christ. Do you sit in the coaches meetings or talk with the trainers??? Canaan sat for ONE game only. The Rockets won that game. And it could have been for a tweak or not feeling up to par, or because the coaching staff did not feel he matched up well with a PG that is four inches taller than him. Get real dude.
Why do I feel that this thread is dominated by conspiracy theorists or Fox News hosts talking for years about BHENGAZI?
Lebron was not always godly in playoff mode, if you remember before he went to Miami many fans and critics were calling him soft and a choker too. Lebron has a lot of work to do with his new team, even for a player of his caliber it is not far fetched that the Cavs do not make the finals this year because of chemistry issues. Rockets have a new look team, again. Yet we're 9-2 on the year, 2nd best record in the league. We have issues, but so does Memphis, they are a slow and unathletic team and if they go up against a team like Phoenix or Clippers or Portland or us when we didn't play 3 games in 4 nights, they can lose by a lopsided number too.
guys its just the houston rockets its just a basketball team these guys dont even give a **** about us why should we care about them dont watch the games just check the scores after the game if they win, just say "ok they won" if they lose, just say "ok lost game" its just basketball it wont change your life it wont make your life better
I blame McHale for a lot of ****, I don't think he's a great coach by any means. I think he lost us game 1 of the Portland series by himself, and perhaps cost us the entire series. But tonight is not on McHale, dude. Its on the players, playing 3 games in 4 nights...done deal. We have played 7 games on the road so far so we have been traveling a lot, these things even out. We get the next 5 games at home, look for a better effort from our squad over this stretch. I think we can win atleast 4 of these games, with the only loss coming against Dallas or the Clippers.
Yeah, I said this in the Game thread. I know this game isn't on Mchale. But he has put Canaan on the bench, tonight wasn't proof that he trusts Canaan seeing as how he only came in when the game was far out of hand. I never said this game was on McHale, I'm just confused as to how there is any excuse for Canaan to not get more minutes when he's been playing very well. Unless he's hurt some how, that didn't seem to be the case though.
Our defense was the issue tonight, we couldn't stop them from scoring on us. Canaan is a guy you bring in when your offense is stagnant and only if electing to go small won't hamper your defense too much. Canaan is an offensive energizer, but he has to be used carefully because if he's asked to defend taller guards then he can become a liability.
The best coach in the Rockets organization might be the RGV Vipers coach Nevada Smith. Vipers won in triple OT vs. Bakersfield Jam last night. To forge the first OT, Smith drew up an inbounds play for Earl Clark in the last 0.9 sec. That's correct, 0.9 sec. Clark received the ball and then made a turn-around corner 3. Do we have our new PF/C? Funny thing though, Clark ran all the way to the locker room, thinking he had won the game when it was just for a tie 128-all. Anyway ... Nick Johnson made a follow-up of an Earl Clark 3pt miss to forge the 2nd OT.
I agree with all of this. Mcfail is here for the forseeable future. Let's get used to it and hope Morey has another card up his sleeve.
We should be blowing out the Lakers even without Dwight. They played last night. Their defense sucks and they don't close out on threes. Yet McFail once again decides to keep Canaan and Daniels on the bench.
Guys, time to accept that Canaan is just being benched. It's not because of matchups or anything, the Lakers are about as tall as us tonight. He's just benched until someone gets hurt again. His stellar play meant nothing to the coaches or he's in the doghouse for something.
