lol He is insurance and a good one at that in case injury prone D Will goes down. Jack can be a good 6th man or start at the 1 or 2.
pap scored with the contract and it is definitely moveable - but I honestly think they were looking at him as dead weight and are now more inclined to want to keep him, yet the contract sucks for retaining the player.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills... does nobody realize Papanikolaou is shooting 27%? He's creative and he's seemingly playing solid defense, but holy crap when he isn't hitting an open shot the other team doesn't even guard him.
have you ever done something one way for 10 years and then had to completely change it? Did it take you 10 days to make the transition?
Well he should be. Having that type of mindset cost the Rockets a huge asset with moving the Lin contract. Jack is a superior player on a better contract but still. Leverage is leverage. If you say Morey is really thinking this way, and is going to acquire deals like this to fill a minor role, I'd probably tell folks around here to start tempering expectations on this whole "third star" talk, and "Max Cap room" everyone seems to think the Rockets will have. Using picks to unload contracts to create cap room is very un-Morey-like. I hope for his sake we don't see that have to happen again.
This is why I started this thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=258740 Same thing I heard in early October. And yes.........why would we trade Canaan without getting a PG back? And why didn't Canaan play last night when he is obviously the second playmaker behind Harden? Bev or no Bev...we needed Canaan out there when Harden rested for 11 minutes. I'm not saying a trade is imminent because I haven't heard that it is. The info I got was we were going to revisit everything Dec. 15th. However, that doesn't mean something else hasn't happened that Plowman knows about. Oh.....and just food for thought. Both Brewer and Mo Williams fit into the Lin TPE. (I'm not saying that's what's happening here but....it does lend itself to possibilities.) And....why would we want Brewer with both Ariza and KPaps here? And why would we trade KPaps for Brewer? Read between the lines here guys. If we are seriously interested in Brewer it is because somebody else is going out not named Canaan. Either Kpaps, or Ariza, or at the very least Terrence. And if Minny is shopping Brewer because of a rebuild then what do you think they are doing with Thad Young, Pekovic, Chase, and KMart???? And what about Rubio????????????????????????????????????????? This little dribble leak about Brewer is nothing if true. It only starts to tell the story of what might unfold in Minny.
lol Papa has exceeded most expectations so far. I personally thought he would be in Dleague for awhile. I do wish the team would start shooting well.
I'm really high on everything else he's doing, and I think we have the luxury of letting him find the 3 point line. He had good numbers in the Euroleague so it's not like expecting Dwight to develop a 3 point shot or something, more like that season where we had Patterson step out.
I'm not saying I don't like him... it just seems like the overarching sentiment is that he's some wonderful gem we've uncovered and is therefore untradeable.
I'd trade his ass so fast his head would spin if something came up. But I do like him and I think it was a good signing and another underrated trade by Morey.
A team can absorb up to $100,000 more than the amount of the TPE. So, it looks like the Rockets hypothetically COULD absorb both Brewer's and Williams's salaries into it. Still, I'm not buying what he's selling, either.
