It's one thing to defend the insiders, some who have been continuously wrong. But what is it with the posters who are just completely delusional. We are trading Canaan away when we are 9-1 and lack depth at pg and our starting pg has been injured in as many games as he has played? To use the $8 mil TPE on brewer? Sheesh.
Makes sense, there have to be some concerns with Patrick's usage considering his play style and injury history. After he went down, I heard that we reached out to a stop gap but I guess it worked out well that we didn't sign this particular player because Pat came back fast.
That's the PERFECT backup point. He's really starter material only reason he's behind D-Will is cuz of that contract
Not saying it is true or false, but if true: Brewer could be combined with other contracts at deadline. TPE can't. With the way Terry is playing, Rockets may want to keep him for playoff run. If so, Rockets need to acquire another contract if they want to maintain trade flexibility.
So I guess you are also hearing that the Rockets apparently don't care about free agency in 2015 if they are looking at contracts like Jack and Brewer that go into next year? I would think Brooklyn would have jumped at the chance to dump his salary personally, but not sure if this was pre-Terry and Morey was just looking to snake them into giving him assets to take Jack back.
He is a baller for sure... Smart too. Rockets are worried about Bev. They love how he plays and want to keep him, but the Rockets brass feels he will go for a big payday and I dont know if the team is going to keep him at a high cost. They are worried about that knee. I see the Rockets trying to get a 2 way guard near the deadline or picking one up after the Chinese basketball season is over.
Right. But if we got a bigger contract, then that contract could be combined with other contracts for a trade. I can't see anyone making more sense than Bass. We need the PF depth, he's a vet, his contract is big but fits the TPE, and I can't see Boston needing much to let him go. He's not a great player but if he proves to be horrible for us then we trade him before the deadline.
Jeeezus, how do conversations go between Morey and McHale regarding potential trades? Morey: Kevin, I'm in talks to acquire a player, I think you'll like him--- McHale: (hope in eyes) Does he jack threes??!!? Morey: Well, he shoots threes. I wouldn't say he jacks them. McHale: Then what do I want him for?! Morey: Look, we kept Garcia. I did that because you asked. And what has he given us? We should change his jersey to say CLANK. McHale: I told you, outside of our stars, get me players who fit my three panic modes. 1) Go big. 2) Go small. 3) Jack threes. Until you fit the bill, don't tell me anything, I don't care. Now I'll see you later. (THUNK, draaaaaaaaaaaaag, THUNK, draaaaaaaaag, THUNK, draaaaaaaaaaag....)
Kpaps contract wasn't structured as a keeper. I'd be interested if they're privately pissed at themselves for that contract.
His reps arent worried about it... Worst to worst Barcelona and his people are very close - he knows he can always go back to Barcelona. Plus - another team would want him if they decline his option next year.
The Kpap contract is fine. It is 4.9 expiring (team option). It can be combined with Terry's expiring to form a larger expiring deal for trades. Lots of flexibility here. Dorsey's contract is the only anchor at the moment. It is only 1M for next season but I am sure they would want to clear that contract to have max cap room.
