Imagine if he gets a sack in each game the rest of the way.

Imagine if Mallet keeps playing well.

    Imagine if Foster is healthy.

    Playoffs?

It may have looked like nobody but Watt was having a good game but 17 different Texans had tackles or assists. That's a team playing like a team. Mohamed only posted one tackle but he had a big influence on the outcome.

Clowney requires attention and game planning, it helps the team.

Didn't do much yesterday, but he was also going against a future HOF'er at LT for most of his snaps.

3-0 in games Clowney plays. The guy just wins!

Hey, it works for rookie QBs, why not rookie DEs?!?

They game planned for Clowney...??? I thought Cleveland just put Joe on him and called it a day.... I don't know how many snaps Clowney was on the field though. Maybe next game he will have more of an impact.

For reference, Watt was unable to do much of anything against Thomas either.

I think the issue I have with Clowney is that his strength is based around his speed...he tries to bull rush, rather than trying moves to get around the lineman. He's just not a bull rush kind of guy, I dont think.

He's still recovering from the knee injury, the bull rush is the least risky pass rush move when it comes to your knees.

He's a 4-3 end, that's the bottom line; Texans done goofed again.

Except he looks like he has the tools to become one of the very best run stopping 34OLB's in the entire league AND we're in 4-down alignments most of the time, especially against most of the good teams (they have elite QB's). And even then, ultimately, if he's that good, it's on the coach to utilize him correctly - in other words - run 43.

It looked like he was missing on 1st down plays. Since he's superior to Merciless in the run game I would have liked to see him out there more often on 1st down. I also saw him drop into man coverage a few times, didn't love that, he looks a bit hobbled still, but he actually looks like he might be able to cover fairly well. He's just raw.

Dude, he had probably the most basic knee injury possible...10 weeks into it, he's no longer in recovery mode.

In some ways, but it takes a while to get back to 100% and to regain confidence in the joint. He's good enough to play, but it's like with Cushing, he's recovered from surgery, but he's nowhere near 100% and that was a year ago.

I get the feeling that Clowney will have to be an every down player before we really get to see his impact. If he's going to flash and have 2-3 big plays a game he needs to be getting enough snaps for that to happen.

Can someone explain to me why he can't replace Crick as the other DE with Watt? Is he not big enough?

Clowney also said he felt great after the game.

    He played half the snaps.

He is good to go, no more excuses.

Clowney was fine yesterday. He had two hurries and a tackle for loss. He also was solid against the run. He wasn't Pro Bowl good, but he was solid.

He's too small and Crennel wants his interior lineman playing 2-gap technique. He's made an exception for Watt because he's special and lines him up everywhere.

Clowney will be fine at OLB and will get pressure on the QB. That is if he has the heart to fight through nagging injuries.

You need to realize that "knee injury" is a very generic injury. He had the baby of knee injuries. Very minimal surgery. You are walking in a couple days and should resume full activity within 3 weeks. Cushing on the other hand had total recognitive surgery.

Also, the guy looks really awkward dropping back in coverage. I don't remember who on this board kept claiming that he would just rush every play but he dropped back in the last game. Hopefully this just takes time but he seems like the prototypical 4-3 end.
