Too early to decide on Clowney but if Mariota had declared..

Mariota vs Luck would become a Brady vs Manning lite rivalry.

So you say its too early on Clowney, but you're ready to make Mariota an all-time great?

    Got it.

Gimmick quarterback... The Texans would have probably still drafted Clowney even if Mariota had declared... And he probably would have been available in the back of the 1st just like Teddy and Johnny was.

Mariota will be drafted high...but what he's done in college will not translate to the NFL.

    Do not want.

100% disagree about Mariota. I think he's going to be a STUD, and there's absolutely no way that Bortles would've been drafted before him.

i think he did well. The browns doubled a few times leaving one on ones for JJ.. thats why i wanted him on the field because the line has to account for him.

And they usually were able to gate late pressure from a LB or safety up the middle, which really cause hoyer to be pretty bad.

Our coverage was actually awful, and yet Hoyer was only 20 for 50.... in large part because there was always a hand in his face.

That sort of semi-consistent pressure can only get better with more Clowney.

He had one really great takedown in the backfield. Just needs to keep working on it. I'm not sure if he was in on half of the snaps today.

he did not do much, but he went against Joe Thomas who is a top 3 LT & future HOF.

it was a nice "welcome back to football" game for clowney.

I kept watching for him. He was largely invisible out there today.

He didn't play all that much, but he still outplayed Mercilus who played more.

Once Thomas put his claws on Clowney, he was pretty much done.

no doubt.. but the same goes for everyone Thomas has ever faced.

i'm just happy clowney is getting reps. he has the tools.. just needs experience & refinement.

Clowney tries to bull rush 95% of the time. Good luck with that buddy.

in all fairness he did collapse the pocket on a number of occasions using the bull rush.

i think as his knee gets healthier (and he gets more experience) we will see his speed game & his swim move.
